I remember reading somewhere that the main reason that Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts had cars in it was because while making the original game (Banjo-Threeie) they made the worlds too big and thought "Hey, the player could travel around faster in a car" so they reworked the entire game to center around the cars instead.... we were so close...

Think it still would've been a problem. I LOVE Banjo-Tooie, but some worlds (looking at you, TerryDactylLand and Grunty Industries) were TOO big with nothing in them. I guess that's why I love the original the best.

I hate all of you --True. I feel like they made the worlds way to big with nothing in them so you could have room to drive your car but it ended up feeling like a post-nuclear fallout zone. The originals made wide open spaces without making them empty. Nuts and Bolts has a defined art style, but the design and composition of the art style has no character.

This video is an exemplary sample of this early 2010s era of KZbin Comedy. The text on screen. The hyperactive editing. The crazy lore surrounding the reviewer. The "loud, silly, and crazy is funny". It's a legit vintage and this video particularly exemplifies these traits if you ask me. It's weird to have had this for a decade and looking back on how this stuff is crystalized in these videos yet has slowly developed away from it. It's still fun to watch and I have to wonder if we will have a wave of content that calls back to this style in the future.

Okay, I wish to clarify why many a Banjo-Kazooie fan was ticked off at this game. I can name a few good reasons. 1. False advertising: Rare released a trailer of a new hi-def B-K game and it looked like the classics would return better than ever. What we got from the finished product was NOT the game we were hoping for, but a racing game with LEGO cars that should have been its own game that had NOTHING to do with Banjo-Kazooie. 2. It's not a spinoff: If this was a spinoff like the Mario Kart games, I would have let this slide. But guess what? It's a direct sequel that threw away what made the old games good. 3. It hates its predecessors: Yes, it's a B-K game, but it doesn't have its spirit. There are several instances where Nuts and Bolts looks back at the past games and thinks they're either washed up or that platformers are things of the past (in spite of OTHER platformers doing pretty dang well *cough*Mario Galaxy*cough*). What JonTron showed was only a HINT of the "take thats" to the past that the game throws out. 4. It's confused: The game seems to want to be a blend of racing, build-it, and platformer, but this is an act that is nigh-impossible to accomplish. Build-it games require time for building things, which KILLS racing games and platformers. Platformers require worlds to explore, but racing games and build-it games take away the details, characters, and exploration-based levels that make platformers fun. Last but not least, racing games are meant to be fast and finished quickly, but platformers require time to complete fully and explore, while build-it games require time to create objects. The result? This game is a confused mess and a huge insult. Plain and simple.

I am not a fan of the game. I have only played a bit of Banjo Kazooie when I was a kid, but I don't remember a second of it at all, except for the character you play as. But seeing some videos of gameplay of that game, I understand the problem. An adventure game turned into a build-it racing game with a total lie of an advertisement. I can see how that would upset people. I guess people would look at this game differently, if they had included what the game is really about in the ads. I imagine fans would likely give it a try, and judge it from a different perspective. But this did not happen. I think it's stupid to get people thinking that the new game is gonna be just like previous ones... while those bastards are leaving out the main part of the game. Having no memory of any games, but having played DK 64, I still felt somewhat insulted at 9:54. Collecting objects in these games, even pointless ones, always feels like an achievement. And I enjoy that. And then at 10:13, gamers today just want to shoot things?!?!?! Wow! Could they say anything more wrong? I've seen plenty of shoot-em-up gamers who really enjoy a good platform game. I'm one of those. Did these people have such major issues with the previous games that they had to lie to people just to sell what they wanted, and not what other people really wanted? It's a bunch of bull-ass-monkey-dicks! Yeah, I'm probably overreacting, me not being a Banjo Kazooie fan and all, but I do tend to at least try and speak for other people. And sorry for the very long comment. I did not expect to write so much. I just wanted two paragraphs.

When I was like 10, I got this game as Christmas present from my parents, having never played any Banjo and Kazooie games before, I fell in love with this one. I was a great lover of Lego, so I actually thoroughly enjoyed every last bit of being able to make my own vehicles. As other people said, maybe it doesn't fit as a Banjo and Kazooie game, but as a standalone title, this game is awesome!
