I read that it’s like over 60% of foreigners going to Indonesia fly straight to Bali, that explains why the number of tourists in Bali is high because it alone absorbs more than half of the country’s total number of tourists. Meanwhile, most of foreigners going to Vietnam first fly into either Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh. And from there the tourists spread out to other places. Danang is just one of the choices.

Balinese here, what I've seen with the more experienced nomads is that they've manage to live in the more local suburbs instead of places like Canggu, Ubud, Uluwatu which is way too expensive long term unless you have the budget of course. Daily commute to those areas is pain but well worth the money saved. I will say that with Bali you get to pick which lifestyle you want, from high end luxury to couchsurfing and you still get the sense of being not far off the western trends. With Da Nang it is cheaper, its not as broad in lifestyle choices, you certainly feel more like a true nomad adventuring in SEA and living life off the grid if that make sense.

Just an aside to what was stated in the vid, you can get a 5 year work stay visa for Da Nang. Sure the visa costs but it’s a great option. As for the night life, that’s subjective, both are hearing damaging, if you don’t mind that in later life but Da Nang definitely has excellent night life, and of course way cheaper.

Noise can be a major issue in VN, Bali is much better in that regard . A positive thing about VN not mentioned here is that it is safer to ride a bike, Police wlll generally leave foreigners unbothered as long as they are driving cautiously. In Bali it is okay too, but the roads are dangerous, many reckless drivers (mostly foreigners). EDIT : Also for Tennis,, Vietnam is awesome :)

@@cyrillejabnoun Staying in a nice area noise is not a problem for me in Da Nang. Why tennis is awesome? I play Padel and so far not good options in Da Nang

Staying in Saigon and training with the VN team players. Many are based here, but there are some good clubs in Danang as well . Pickleball is getting very big now in VN but regarding Padel a few clubs have recently opened in Thao Dien (D2) so perhaps you will get lucky and get one soon in Danang as well ;)

I am Indonesian, but I don't live in Bali. As Indonesian, I don't want other places to be touristic. Why? Because tourism and nomad worker makes the price go higher and higher. Bali is the example. The price in Bali is far more expensive than those in other provinces. Locals even can't afford rent a house in Bali because people rent out the house for tourists, so they give tourist price. I can eat 3 times a day in java with only 1 dollar total. With rice, vegetables, chicken, sausage, mushroom, etc. But in Bali at least I have to spend more than 1 dollar only for eating once. And you are right. Tourists and nomad workers only eat western food in Bali. Indonesia has so many traditional food, but Tourist and nomad workers don't buy traditional food. They don't help local business. They only eat in restaurants and cafes that owned by european-australian investors. They live in villas owned by foreign investors. I hope other areas in Indonesia keep away from tourism.
