Love Da Nang, but I wasn’t really into Canggu-way too touristy and full of pretenders and wannabe influencers. Uluwatu is my favourite part of Bali-chill, laid-back, and friendlier than Canggu, with less traffic and so many cool spots and things to do. But hey, different people vibe with different things. Keep up the awesome content, mate!

Ulu is now what Canggu was a couple of years ago. It was more a surfer crowd there, social life was difficult if you have more than just surf. And it`s over now, there`s lots of building going on in Uluwatu, it changes a lot and fast.

Of course Bali is the best, Bali is heaven on earth, how could it not be, from just one island of Bali you can get many tourist attractions, there are beaches, rivers, lakes, waterfalls and mountains, Unique and beautiful rice field stairs. Besides that, Bali has complete transportation and accommodation, quite affordable prices, delicious food. You don't need to move, because lakes, seas, mountains, waterfalls and rivers can be reached in a short distance.Resorts, villas, hotels, restaurants, cafes, shopping centers are also complete and mushrooming everywhere. The natural atmosphere and air are still pristine, pollution-free and well-maintained, very good for your physical and mental health.Of course Bali has a lot of advantages compared to other tourist attractions in the world. You can also see the local culture that is still well preserved and learn about it.

🌴 "I’ve been visiting Bali since 1990, and while it’s always been a popular destination, I think Da Nang is better for most people. 🌊 For a long time, Da Nang flew under the radar, so not many knew about it. But now, it's getting the attention it deserves! ✈ Meanwhile, Bali’s long-term appeal seems to be declining, especially as prices there start to match those in Australia. 💸

Hi Joose! Have been all month in Canggu and Da Nang. I felt in overall the prices in Da Nang are lower than in Canggu. Its not so crowded in Da Nang as in Canggu, so if you prefer to be more low key I would recommend Da Nang, but if you want to meet with other digital enterpreneurs Canggu is the best place. Regarding surfing, Canggu and Uluwato give 10-0 comparing with Da Nang. Really enjoy these two places, and I came to both bc of you man. Balinese here, what I've seen with the more experienced nomads is that they've manage to live in the more local suburbs instead of places like Canggu, Ubud, Uluwatu which is way too expensive long term unless you have the budget of course. Daily commute to those areas is pain but well worth the money saved. I will say that with Bali you get to pick which lifestyle you want, from high end luxury to couchsurfing and you still get the sense of being not far off the western trends. With Da Nang it is cheaper, its not as broad in lifestyle choices, you certainly feel more like a true nomad adventuring in SEA and living life off the grid if that make sense.

Some of the things you have mentioned are true and close to correct and some not so. First thing Bali is on the decline since covid and I first went there in 88 and I have watched it grow. Danang on the other hand is a well structured Modern city and one of many along Vietnams long coast line the other is multiple holiday strips surrounding one of the most filthy chaotic city's around. Da Nang is Vietnam, Bali is not Indonesia if your with me, compare Surabaya with Da Nang. As for the prices, service and value Bali isn't in the same ball park Bali beach clubs as pricey as the US Australia and Europe , Vietnam has so many options for Nomads.

I am Indonesian, but I don't live in Bali. As Indonesian, I don't want other places to be touristic. Why? Because tourism and nomad worker makes the price go higher and higher. Bali is the example. The price in Bali is far more expensive than those in other provinces. Locals even can't afford rent a house in Bali because people rent out the house for tourists, so they give tourist price. I can eat 3 times a day in java with only 1 dollar total. With rice, vegetables, chicken, sausage, mushroom, etc. But in Bali at least I have to spend more than 1 dollar only for eating once. And you are right. Tourists and nomad workers only eat western food in Bali. Indonesia has so many traditional food, but Tourist and nomad workers don't buy traditional food. They don't help local business. They only eat in restaurants and cafes that owned by european-australian investors. They live in villas owned by foreign investors. I hope other areas in Indonesia keep away from tourism.

True but the Balinese set the prices and make it expensive not the tourist. Da Nang and many other citys in Vietnam are half the price if not 70% cheaper for everything.

idk but i've seen nowdays the rising of japanese people stay in bali in pas few years, mostly to retire as they're trying to pursue "slow life" and bali environment suits for it and the younger ones usually with family trying to live out from stressful life in japan. they mostly don't pursue the "resort life" but genuinely to having slow life also i think the price there keep higher because it's more and more overseas investors investing there, more villas, resort/hotel, restaurant owned by westerner or ausies and they charging with western pricing
