I was in the market for a new radio Dave and I had a look at this one as it seemed ok for the money ! Only thing I personally couldn’t get away from was I really didn’t like the way it looked that’s a bit shallow maybe and I’ll probably live to regret it lol .I ended up with an Anytone Ares 2 in the end I think they are pretty similar generally but I liked that retro look on the Ares 2 I’m old and it floats my boat 👍

The Ares 2 is a great radio and I think you made the right choice, the looks of the HAM-10 are a bit Marmite and before seeing it I said looks only a Mother would like, but to be fair looks better in the flesh, still not going to win any beauty pageants 😂. The brand behind Jopix own the Superstar trademark and launched the Superstar 3900 (2023 Version) , hand on heart it was a game changer and similar to your Ares 2. I will always keep the 3900.

Hi Dave, I do like the look of this radio and was thinking about buying one for the kitchen.. have you had it on the air yet and if so how does it perform to other recent radios like the George 2 or Washington.

No I haven't used it yet, I will be trying it in the next few days, it's hard trying to keep up TBH🙂

In my opinión an ugly “bmw” face radio, and very cheaply build, not even an aluminum chassis that helps heat dissipation.

Yes, I used to like BMW cars, owning a 325i E30, before the stupid foot high grills appeared. Back to the radio, well it is a radio priced as low as AM/FM radios, so it was always going to have a Zintech chassis.
