First, vinyl is not a stable material, over the years, depending on the formulation, the color can change. It may lighten or darken. Or like in the case of your male Jordache doll, the plasticizer part of the vinyl, which makes it flexible, starts to separate or leach out. This is what make the. "skin" surface Greasy or oily.

I say you name him Clark.... Because when you showed that up close I recognized the eyes from a toy I had as a kid.... He is a repaint of the Superman 12 inch Doll by Mego that came out for the original Superman movie.... Looked it up to confirm... So it's an even lazier doll than you thought.....I wonder if the Girl is a recolor of the Mego Wonder Woman.

It's probably greesy because vinyl can do that Lightly dust it with corn starch some people use alcohol wipes (dont) it will decay fast. Is his head comparable to ken. I wonder if I can put head on a Elvis jointed body

He has a very handsome face, but his mustache troubles me. i'm more a fan of the Jordache fashions than the dolls. i have a few female outfits. The ma;e outfits are harder to come by. At least for me.
