Catholic priests cannot get married but Episcopalian priests can get married. In Christian churches, the church leader is usually called a pastor or a minister, not a priest.

Historically speaking, priests could get married back in the middle ages but over time the church became more strict about it and now priests cannot get married within the Catholic church. Pastors are parish priests from my understanding so I'm not sure if they can get married.

4 months late but... I´m ordained as a deacon in the church of Sweden, little collar and all included. The no sex is pretty much a catholic thing and in that tradition definitly not just a guide line. As Lutheran clergy I´m not in celibacy and I think of consensual sex as a divine gift. However the sex scenes in this book sounds off as fuck. There´s a time and a place!!!
