He plead guilty to securities fraud and money laundering (same as Bernie Madoff, for which he is serving the rest of his life in prison, 150 years anyway). The only reason he wasn't sentenced more than 2 years is the scale of the fraud, basically because he hasn't made as much money as Madoff did. But Hollywood tends to portray these scumbags in a positive light, because it's more fun to watch.

The fact of the matter is that there is more regulation in Wall Street than ever before. Just because there are "losers" doesn't mean we should kill the market... Everytime it was about something not ethical or something disgusting, he lit up. Not for a moment does he show shame. And he has admitted that in another interview. He has no shame for what he did.
