Uh, a bit late but about the smartphones: Newer smartphones are all sealed for the main reason being that, of course, selling more phones. There are still phones that allow the battery to be replaced such as the Fairphone or some thicker models which use bolts instead of glue. Repairing those new phones is a frigging pain as you have to melt the glue and pray they didn't put some stupid safety under the cover that rips the electronic apart when open it. The reason Jordan's phone turned green is that the copper in the phone oxidated. The rust is green. Sometimes they can also turn white but that is out of my chemical expertise. All in all, he was very lucky. A lady once broke her phone by washing it and that thing was dead as a doornail.
