From a characteristic polynomial of a given matrix can we precisely say what will be the minimal polynomial? For each eigen value we can find GM by computing nullity of (A -e.v. I).Raising that value in the factor (t-e.v.)^(GM)?

No. Minimal poly. can't be find out directly. But if AM=GM then minimal polynomial will have linear factors

Sir what if we get AM of characteristics polynomial 7, power of minimal polynomial 3 and the GM comes out to be 3. Then the possible Jordan block can be of 3+3+1 or 3+2+2 but among this two which one is correct??
