RIP Bill You were a force to be reckoned with and an awesome person. The fact that Bird had no reason to care about three-point shots until he got into the NBA is really pretty significant. That is the kind of person he was. He would do it until he got it right, and not only right but effen fantastic!

You know you could tell your friend that chucking 3 is not how you win games it's just building numbers and stacking numbers but his all around game is amazing because the fact is he didn't need to have the ball to affect the game he knew how to move without the ball he knew how to rebound he knew how pass he had amazing passing skill and all round Player. He used to 3 as a dagger as a clutch play he had phenomenal mud range. He wasn't a ball hog. He understood that chucking 3s constantly when you can pass it when you can MOVE through the court and actually trick Everybody because They Don't Know what you're gonna do because when you can shoot and you can pass they Know that he could do either one of those things So they didn't know what to do because 1 minute he's about to shoot a 3 and he passes it and in the next minute he shoots the 3 it throws them off they don't know whether to jump to run or what To do. But if you knew anything about fundamentals and you understood the game and then you would know he is good you've never even seen him in a game and you're making a lot of judgment off of somebody you never even watched play. that's Really kind of messed up just because you like Somebody doesn't Mean Somebody else isn't Better or Somebody isn't equal or Somebody isn't in the conversation of being a G.O.A.T Don't be ridiculous before there was KD there was bird there was Magic there was Michael So give those people props because the NBA wouldn't exist without these people trust me you can go ahead and look they would not exist they were going to cancel the NBA but due to Larry Bird and magic They sold them like a product but they were so good that people wanted to come and see them because before that nobody wanted to come. Now tell me, did Kd do that no and I'm not putting them down either but the fact is there are people that come before you that are just as good if not better so don't be disrespectful. And to the main guy much respect to you for at least being impressed by how amazing larry bird was from the beginning to the end. So sad that people make there judgment without even knowing someone game. But I guess your friend doesn't know basketball, he knows how people shoot 3s and silk manage with all their numbers to not win. What's the point your paid to win, otherwise you're shots mean nothing. 😂

Not only was Bird the third player (and the only forward) to make MVP 3 times in a row but In a 9-year run from 1980 to 1989, Larry Bird got 67% of all MVP votes that were cast. All other players combined only received 33% of the votes. in an era that included the players who eventually made up the dream team and a large list of HOF players.

Larry was the FOUNDER of the 50/40/90 club. There's a Larry Bird injury video also! Yeah, he messed up his forefinger on his SHOOTING hand, playing softball, BEFORE his 1st NBA game! He did NOT tell Coach Auerbach either! Lol. But Larry said later, that he NEVER regained the same feel for the ball ever again!!! Imagine that. Him playing through all his injuries was wild.

Celtics front office told Bird if he waits to announce his retirement until Sept 93, that he will receive a 2 million dollar extension bonus. Bird said. why would i do that if i didnt earn it. he retired later that week.

Michael Jordan said it best "Larry was a debate. He still is. People ask me all the time who my top 5 players are and when I start saying Larry, they interrupt me. They say you've got to be kidding me. He can't play with Lebron James, I tell them. You guys don't get it. Larry is far better than any small forward who played the game". Since I have never played Basketball, I will take the word of both MJ, and Lebron. Both of which have Bird in their top 3. Kobe had him in his top 5 and worthy picked him over Doc. I commented on his negativity and schooled him on Bird..and didn’t leave a like or subscribe…just backed out..BTW..our 1st coach at Kansas was JAMES NAISMITH the inventor of the game..he’s buried next to his wife in Lawrence(1939)..and The Ten Rules of Basketball ( the real original) are on display beside Allen Field House..Pretty cool to know your coach invented basketball…
