that little run he does on "when you held her" (2:15 ish) is one of my favorite things he does in this song

Saw this show for the first time with Jordan Fischer in the role of Orpheus a few days ago, and he was exquisite. By this point in the show, he knows how to maneuver his voice and how to keep the show fresh and he absolutely shines on this song. You could hear a pin drop; that is how synchronized the audience was in that moment. When he came out at the end for the curtain bow, the audience roared. This, mind you, was after they cheered and screamed at the top of their lungs after he finished this ballad. Yes, the song is gorgeous, but it’s the way he handles it: Maybe it’s the riff during “when he held her,” maybe it’s the belt on “take her home,” or maybe it’s just an actor who is dialed in as one of the best contemporary song interpreters on Broadway paired with a song he could not be more better equipped to sing. Who knows? But it’s amazing nonetheless.

This song was beautiful enough to make me tear up, it was just heavenly and reminded me of my past and made me feel free.
