Intro: Excellently done. Organ: That's a great instrument choice, it's old vibes clashing with the modern synth but working together. Whatever that stringed thing is: Really good cord progression. Good variety of instruments. Great builds all through the song. Steady but not too repetitive. Outro was a good choice too. All in all, a really well done song. Not even being biased, this is the best song you made and one of the best on this channel. The second was kind of bad and the first was good (your originals), but this one is amazing. You used so many types of beats (I don't know the terminology) and kept it so progressive which is a problem for many songs on this channel. You don't get easily tired of this. Overall, congrats and I think you can consider yourself a professional artist now

Some people will say that good music is music with a strong beat and chords. Others will say having a relatable meaning and catchy lyrics is more important. While that helps, it's not what makes music stand the test of time. Great music is music that makes you feel. Music that makes you want to do something, whether that thing is dancing, crying, smiling, singing, or all at the same time. It brings back memories, and it creates new ones. Great music is music that tells a story. Not with lyrics, but with every wave of sound that comes from the speakers. Bass, chords, everything. Great music has life, color, and meaning to it. This is great music.

Great song! I'd say you need to have a more distinguishable hook. When I say to someone "Have you heard Jordan's new song, Crusade?" and they ask "Not sure. How does it go?" there isn't much of an obvious and relatively simple set of a few notes that can make this easily recognized. Otherwise, compared to some of your other works this is by far the best.

I actually liked this track but there are a few things that could be better. Since your track doesnt have any words, I'd suggest you take example from game music when making your stuff. You don't need a minute long intro or tons of buildup. A track needs a discernable motif. You can probably recognize the Overworld theme from Mario right away if someone hummed it to you, but there's not much to hum in this. This track sounds like typical dancey progressive tracks with the way it's structured. The 2:03-3:18 piece is a variaton of the main hook, but goes before it. Usually its [short intro][hook][variation][hook][short end]. Also I'd suggest toning down background instruments in the hook a little bit cause the main instrument sounds kind of drowned out and it's kind of noisy. Or maybe it's just KZbin's shitty compression? Also the ending is a bit jarring. Comes right after the chill hook with loud crud bwups. Like an alarm telling me to wake up after a nice dream.
@ethanburns037 жыл бұрын
I agree. I put it almost exactly the same way in my comment. Well put.
@Jessie_Helms7 жыл бұрын
Trish Rowdy I disagree- I think if I heard that opening in someone's intro/video I'd immoderately recognize it. It is a bit unorthodox, but hey, that keeps it exciting- if every song had the same rhythm it'd get boring. I personally prefer the volume mix he had- it kept everything flowing so that it wasn't a huge change when the main rift changed. But I totally get why you like it more distinct.
@ausisrandom56867 жыл бұрын
I think it should be the way he wants it. A clueless tune? Sure... A viral song? Sure

Clever touch with the sandcastle and the tide. I will say this rises to being my favorite of Jordan's three original songs: Nice, strong, sexy. I loved that beginning, a simple beat that starts to fill out immediately, leading to something wonderfully complex. Historically, the Crusades were many and varied, separated, playing out over a long period of time, yet, still of one, overall theme. The structure of this, fits into that well. The song is a whole, satisfying show. There still is, that distinctive mark of Jordan's in the music. It's there throughout, but, especially, along the softer stretches over the beats in the middle. It was a very interesting idea to do that bit of dissonance in the middle. It's a great way to create a new chapter in the song. You have the intro, one bookend, the heart of the song, then the other bookend. This pulled together very well. Some songs you lay back and listen very passively. This one, even as it has those more subdued parts, really pushes you along with a great deal of force. From beginning to end, Crusade is a song that strongly encourages you to pay attention. You have to surrender to the beat and flow, like we all do, to the tides of history. You take in that emotion the music puts out in every part, and go along. I feel like Crusade has the strongest and most distinctive "story" of Jordan's original songs. That's confidence I think, in what he is doing, and what he wants to do with his music. Of course I listened to the other two of Jordan's original songs, along with this. I still play the others from time to time, as they are great for listening on a long drive. With this, added in, it's so clear and obvious how much care he puts into them. I wonder how long this took to put together. I'll say it again, the creativity that Jordan shows with his music, is something that I appreciate. In the accomplishment, in what it takes to put yourself out there in such a personal form, in creating an atmosphere that makes you want to push yourself to make and create. Another job, well done.
