If we accept the seeming reality that Moses, the grandson of Pharaoh, was most likely the best educated of all of the Israelites, and thus the most intelligent, for me the Torah is the witness of a highly evolved consciousness, who wrestles continually, through the humility of his insecurities of logic, predicated upon the virtue of his goodness, wisdom and selfless desire to take an enslaved rabble and evolve them into a coherent nation of law and morality. Those who prove themselves unworthy, fall by the wayside by their own devices. It is Moses, himself, who IS the Children of Israel... those who wrestle with God... have a conscience... are accountable for their actions... recognize the gift of consciousness and thus the moral responsibility to leave the world far more enriched than from whence we entered it!
