At least Jordan Peterson takes his time with scripture and is trying to understand God rather than just jumping on team Jesus as if it is some sort of modern trend. Modern Christianity has pretty much turned into a club that anyone can join by simply identifying themself as a Christian. Jordan's cautiousness is understandable, and I appreciate the fact that he is taking it seriously and isn't taken it lightly. Also, I understand why Jordan is hesitant when making significant claims. It is completely understandable for Jordan to ask for clarification of terms. Especially since there has been so much perversion of Church culture and its language. Nowadays, two Christians can literally say the same words, but both are saying something completely different. When people begin Perverting language, then truth begins to become unclear. I pray that Christians become less complacent in their own ignorance. Such ignorance has invited perversion and division. Also, dont forget, just because we may use the same words as another person doesn't mean yall are coming to the same conclusion. Christians have a duty to preserve the truth, and this is done through the means of logic and language. Christians must not allow the world to corrupt the language that has already been defined for us.

C.S. Lewis rightly pointed out that the Magician and the Materialist are actually two sides of the same coin. The first group only wants to affirm the abstract (or poetic/Ideal) as the ultimate reality. They get very ascetic or mystical (like the Gnostics). The second group only wants to affirm the materialistic and physical as the ultimate reality. But Christianity frustrates both and says that we must embrace both the physical and the metaphysical realities. Jesus is not just a philosophy, and He's not just a body. He is God's Word Incarnate. Becoming so verbose to the point of confusing ourselves with our own words is a trap that I understand, and my heart goes out to Peterson. The gospel is so simple. It confounds the flesh. God has hidden the truth from the wise and revealed them to babes. Praying for him to be born again (not poetically, but literally). We must reject the lust of empty philosophy and drink deeply from the well of the Living Water (John 4).

Jordan Peterson is an intellectual agnostic in the truest sense. It seems to me the more he studies, the more God is able to reveal the truth, and eventually the logical conclusion one has to come to is...the Bible is true, and Jesus is God and the saviour of humanity!

I have the same problem as Jordan one day i 100% believe God is real and Jesus was resurrected and others days i start to have doubts and i’m sure but also not sure. I’m extremely high in openness which is a gift and a curse, it’s common amongst intelligent people.

God is beyond comprehension, but He has revealed Himself through Jesus the Son. We don't arrive at faith through comprehension but through revelation. It's good even necessary wrestle with God, but I pray Dr. Peterson will be brought to surrender.

This is semantic in my Opinion, because revelation is a form of comprehension. A “revelation” is a revealing of a truth of knowledge not previously held. I understand that this can happen supernaturally, but it is still knowledge.

Back a few years I saw Jordan in Indianapolis and he read my question about “how long will it take you to take a stand on Jesus”. He didn’t like the question. Ever since then Jordan frustrates me constantly with his mythological and gnostic angle on Christianity. I guarantee he’s going to end up as some Catholic/gnostic hybrid unless God grants him faith. He’s the perfect example of someone who God hasn’t yet given faith and what that does to a person.

It all as to do with ego. He is afraid of being perceived as a crazy person because he is so eloquent and logic based that he may not be able to make other people understand how he got here. I pray for him for I know he has the strength and courage to fulfill the purpose of God for him. Love you Dr. Peterson ❤ May God be with you always.

Here's a simple question for fence sitters. Do you believe in the omnipotence of God described by the Bible? If that God is truly all powerful, why does science have a need to prove or reinforce the miracle of the virgin birth and resurrection when those events happening literally is the cornerstone of Christian faith.
@bryce84184 күн бұрын
If that is in fact the exact wording on how you asked your question, I can see why he didn’t like it lol Also do he’s denounced Gnosticism in his convo with Alex O’Connor so I don’t foresee him taking up those views anytime soon. I do pray that God moves on his heart and there is an outpouring of the spirit upon him.

General Relativity breaks down in the Planck-Era of the Expansion and a new theory is required to explain it which is why a theory of quantum gravity is being worked on. The Singularity isnt even part of the standard model. Newtonian Physics break down when we try to use it on the Universe and that is why we use General Relativity. So, apparently before that we had to believe in a miracle because Newtonian Physics couldnt explain spacetime. Peterson is wrong and this Ruslan guy is the average petty Apologist.

@ Who are you to judge? His relationship with God and Jesus is his business. With all the studying he has done and the amount of Biblical work he’s done and his background. I have a hard time believing that he’s not a Christian. From my experience many people are saved just from reading the Bible. I know that I certainly believed from reading and studying the Bible. Even though my parents, grandparents and some aunts and uncles were and are Christians, some others who were raised in the same household and family are not. God touches each individual in a way meant to just for them. All we can do is spread the truth and let God deal with the rest.

@barbarae-b507 I'm not going to say for sure whether peterson is saved or not because of course i dont know. I would lean towards him actually being saved. But "you will know them by their fruits" comes to mind. What i know is that the pharisees had all the religion but they had no love. They thought they knew God, but were some of most vile humans possible. Sometimes yeah, it's not clear whether someone is saved or not. But then there's other times where a self-proclaiming christian or catholic is asked a question like why do they think theyre going heaven, and they give an answer like "because im a good person". Which tells you they have no clue what the gospel actually is. You can claim your car is a ferrari, but im going to be skeptical of that when it takes you more than 10 seconds to hit 60mph. I dont mean any offense, but i think it's pretty silly when people say "who are you to judge whether someone is saved or not?" I dont personally care, but I think it's something people need to be aware of, especially when theyre taking advice from them. People claim to be a lot of things that they're not, and you can usually get an idea of what they actually believe by their actions. You shouldn't blindy follow every pastor simply because they're standing behind a pulpit. What they're preaching should line up with the bible.

I've found Jordan Peterson helpful in some areas, but not in the area of God. For someone who claims to be very careful in what he says, he seems remarkably careless in how he reads and represents scripture. It feels like a kid who just doesn't listen, or a guy in an art gallery who looks at the pictures wearing a pair of glasses that produce weird effects, rather than seeing what the art is to begin with. I would say that Alex O'Connor and Ben Shapiro both seem to understand the gospel far more clearly than JP. Glen Scrivener at Speak Life has pointed out that with JP it's all about us climbing uphill or scaling Jacob's ladder, and about us making sacrifices, and not about God coming down, making a ladder of Himself, lifting our burdens and us, making Himself the unknowable known, and giving Himself as the ultimate sacrifice. JP is saying "What can I do? What can I do?" And I like the guy and it's heart-breaking. But I think Jesus is saying more like, "I've done it- I've got there first, I've loved you first- choose me, trust in me, accept what I've done first, and let what you then do be as a response, not as a means to earn your way".
