The circle of fifths in counter-clockwise motion... so the circle of fourths?
@Hendrix40049 жыл бұрын
+Johnbillyfrank You're right. He did it the good way, but the explanation was weird. A circle of fifth goes like C-F-Bb-Eb, so it might seem that we're talking fourth. So the "counter clockwise motion" was probably to explain that C is the fifth of F is the fifth of Bb and so on..

He is got a very special touch holding his hands on a lower level than the keybed...maybe he gets more strenght using that technique.

update: this is like watching a keyboard version of Flash Gordon , with the dastardly Ming The Merciless at the controls :P weaving his heavy intergalactic old buff about something as vague and innocuous as a circle of fifths ....what can possibly go wrong Ming?

Getting nauseous from the angle which the keyboard is shown in this video..
@JCAdams-er3mj9 жыл бұрын
Vurt72 Get used to that angle, it's probably very similar to the angle which you will be viewing most pianists
@Vurt729 жыл бұрын
J.C. Adams top-down view would be far more natural since that's how you would view it IRL, and that's usually how the keyboard is shown. And i'm talking about the angle in this video where they keyboard is "hanging down" and you are watching as if you stood below the keyboard watching upwards - ughh..
@JCAdams-er3mj9 жыл бұрын
well sure, but if you aren't able to learn due to the angle of the video, that is a weakness that you could benefit by strengthening

Triads? Ok, but how about some insight into those fast flourishes? So I picked up one: work the inversions of arpeggiated chords up and down the keyboard. So how did you go about developing speed with that? Triads + ??? = PROFIT!!! lol, but seriously now

If this video were about lessons, the camera would have been positioned overhead, looking straight down on the keybed so that it would be easiest for viewers to pick up on what you are doing. A little slower wouldn't hurt, either. You went from basic triads to very fast broken triads. I'm aware that you are a highly skilled musician. Did you actually want to show me something?
