I met him and talked to him. I'm a huge Dream theater fan but this guy is on another level in his head when it comes to music even from Dream Theater. His thinking and talent is unmatched. He is the best in the world all around and can play anything in every way as displayed here. He hears tones and patterns as you and i can speak. The best decision DT ever made was to make him a DT member.
@Samuri5hit846 ай бұрын
The new one with Alicia Keys "Empire State of Mind" really has that effect of what you're saying. "Speaking with music the way we talk". Incredible musician that imo redefines what a keyboard player could be. He's both cool while extremely well versed in all music. No to offend keyboard/piano players, however most of them just don't appear as cool as Jordan does. His style and his music makes him a very good candidate for any keyboard players to aspire to be like him one day, and I do really hope he inspires a lot of people.

Hard agree here. There's nobody alive with more technical proficiency combined with an encyclopedic knowledge of various kinds of music, on top of being just a stunningly pleasant human being. He's the Paul Gilbert of keyboards.

To be fair, I’m wondering if it’s even in his wheelhouse to approach music in some way other than this. His shred skills are undeniable, but maybe he can only hear his own outermost layer on top of everything else, rather than figure out how to elevate and support what others are creating? Or he’s just not taking these challenges seriously/creatively. ETA…okay, just caught his Animals As Leaders video. He crafts actual parts that blend on that one! Much more satisfying.
