Man I was really hoping Jordan spieth could pull this epic comeback off. He showed a lot of grit and determination out there today! I bet this is a great sign of things to come.

If he does, he'd be the first to complete the career slam at the PGA Championship, but not the first to complete the career slam at this year's PGA Championship venue, Bellerive Country Club near St. Louis. After all, it was there that Gary Player completed his career slam by winning his one and only U.S. Open title in 1965, which also marks the only time it's ever been achieved at the U.S. Open. And I do believe that pressure was what got to Rory McIlroy on Sunday. Personally, I don't believe either Spieth or McIlroy will ever win the one major that completes the career slam, but instead, wind up like Mickelson, Snead, Palmer, Watson, Trevino, and Floyd as great players who win three legs of the career slam, but never the fourth. There's a reason why no player that's completed the career slam has taken more than three tries at it. The longer it takes, the more crushing the pressure becomes, especially in this era.

if he would have birdied 18, it would have been the greatest round of golf ever played and he still may not have won. The way Fatty played on that Friday round when the course was playing the hardest in warm conditions I'd ever seen before in my life, it's why he is champion, and the fact that he kept it together while his playing partner flamed out ,made it well deserved.

The scary thing is he could have easily shot at 62
@cjs831726 жыл бұрын
Or a 61, which would have won it for him. He shot 64 and missed three short, or relatively easy putts (birdie putt at 7, eagle putt at 13, and par putt at 18). But I think that when he plays the 18th next year, he'll play from the left side of the tee box, because it was the two horrendous tee shots at 18 that cost him the tournament. The first one on Thursday not only led to a bogey at just the moment that he seemed to be taking control, but also led to the bad start on Friday, so that drive may have cost him as many as four shots. And the second one cost him a chance to get to what wound up being the winning score, 15-under par, which would have been a 62 and simply the greatest round of golf ever played. Instead, his 64 is merely one of the greatest rounds ever played.

@cjs831726 жыл бұрын
He also missed a short birdie putt on #7. For whatever reason, as great as he is on longer putts (like the one on 16 that tied him for the lead), he's just as shaky on shorter putts of 4-8'. If you recall, the same thing happened when he was going for the single season slam in 2015. He holed a monster putt, much longer than the one he holed on 16 yesterday, on the 70th hole to tie him for the lead at St. Andrews, but he then missed a 7-foot putt for par on 17 that cost him a spot in the playoff that Zach Johnson won.

Oh and while everyone is hating on Reed and accusing him of cheating, it sure looked like Spieth's caddy was telling him how to putt the ball. In fact, pretty boy took directions from the caddy standing directly in back of him before he made the putt! Cheater!!

@JeepersCreepers20136 жыл бұрын
A caddy helping a player read a break is no different than helping with yardage. He's not putting the ball. No cheating involved.
@ginamascetti88106 жыл бұрын
This is the Masters not putt putt golf! If Speith was a professional he would never take directions from a freakin caddy! Come one!
@JeepersCreepers20136 жыл бұрын
Gina Mascetti are you kidding?? The greens are THE reason that course is so tough. There's very little rough. No o/b for the most part. It's wide freaking open. Besides a putt counts as much as a 300 yd drive, and those greens are like putting on sloped pool tables.
@ginamascetti88106 жыл бұрын
So glad he didn't win! He's one of the haters and jealous people in golf. REED Won and he's way more talented than everyone out there today! However, Mickelson will always be the best looking man out there.
