Jordan Tatum 3! Did Jordan Brand Get It Right? Pros and Cons

Overall: I’ve played in this shoe over the past 2 weeks. A shoe I feel confident in, but with typical downsides and improvement areas. The best in the Tatum line (this ma not be saying much depending on how you felt about the 1 and 2). Remember, I wasn’t a huge fan of the Tatum 2 overall and the Tatum 1’s durability.
Materials: Although light, I hope in the future they can incorporate flyknit for a more 1:1 and premium feel. Flyknit would achieve 3 things: weight, aesthetics, and conforming feel. The current materials get the job done, but aren’t the most premium nor the most conforming.
Lockdown: Good, but I had to tie the laces pretty tight. This is different than the Sabrina 2 for example, where I barely had to tie the laces. This is not a problem for most people but as a wide footer I don’t like tying laces tight (just a preference personally).
Traction: The best in the line because it’s fully covered (unlike the Tatum 1 and Tatum 2) and is more durable. Also, wipe on dust (I showed myself slipping slightly) but I felt confident in these for the most part. Cushion: It reminds me of the Tatum 1 with a subtly improved full-length ride due to the Cushlon. It’s low to the ground but with not much impact protection. Specifically, the forefoot zoom unit is the same as the Tatum 1.
Fit: True to size, but wide footers have to break in the lateral sidewall.
Support: Average, but I like the mid-top lockdown and aesthetic. I don’t think there’s a plate inside, but I could be wrong.
Aesthetics: Call me old, but I love the 90s shape and upper design. Reminds me of the Uptempo and Crazy 8. However, I think certain colorways look better than others. They should have released the Olympics PEs.
Conclusion: In my PERSONAL opinion these win over the Tatum 2 and are an improved version of the Tatum 1, mainly due to the durability and traction upgrades. Clearly, you do not have to buy this shoe especially with other models/brands being on sale. My main likes are the midtop design, aesthetics, traction, and weight. My main dislikes are the lack of heel to toe transition, not the best materials, break in time for wide footers, and average cushion. I can see people liking these over the Jordan 39 solely due to the stability and midtop design.
