chess is easier these days when you're allowed to carry every other dribble. i think nba players cant even dribble without carrying these days and it would ruin their offense and handles if they went back to 80s/90s where you had to do a tim hardaway style crossover instead of palming and letting the ball go under your hand as they all do nowadays. kd and kyrie literally carries every other dribble

People don’t realize how difficult it is to be on balance this consistently. It’s crazy how on balance he is with every single movement. Most players have a few movements where they are on balance…maybe it’s the no dribble triple threat, or right to left crossover. But Kyrie’s balance on every movement regardless of what combination he uses and regardless of what the defender does is extraordinary. And you can tell he’s not even going at full speed, this is maybe 70-75% at the very most? Perhaps even closer to half speed than full speed. It’s nuts

The biggest thing that goes unnoticed for kyrie is how he manipulates the ball on layups. Specifically, he can go one handed to show the ball at different angles but his hands aren't as big as say Jordan so he times his off hand to control the ball with 2 hands at the point the defender bumps him and then finishes with one hand to show the ball at different angles. It's something he does better than anyone.

Someone you should rank next is Jordan Mccabe. It still boggles my mind how he managed to play D1 and be an ESPN top 100 player despite being 5'10 and having zero athleticism. Not to mention he went from being a player development coach to an assistant coach for WVU in less than a year, all while being in his early twenties, which is practically unheard of in the coaching world. Dudes IQ is elite.

I’m not even a Kyrie fan, but you give insight into, and break down his skill set so succinctly (both subjectively and objectively) that any proficient basketball player, or coach can really get a feel for the player’s game. It’s my contention that any pro scout could use your platform. Seriously, well done.

Beautifully done in its entirety; •The evaluation system. •The unbiased criticism, whether positive or negative. •And, imo, I love how you can get someone on a Kyrie Irving level to buy into the process. Impressive. As great as Kyrie is, I think his career has still been slightly underrated. It sounds ridiculous at first, but his off court opinions, whether true or not, are used negatively when evaluating his on court abilities. Its crazy for someone, thats never been in trouble, to be viewed as a "problem" or a "distraction" simply over his personal beliefs. I like that this evaluation is 100% ability based.

The kiss off the glass on his shots is crazy. Do you have any idea how much practice he put into making it seem so effortless? He could make that shot closing his eyes. He is that cold with it.

This 6 minute video has been a better viewing experience than the past 1,000,000,000,000 minutes I've watched on KZbin. All the new content doesn't feel genuine, dare I say it is made with ill intent, and that I feel like they only want me to watch the video for their personal monetary gain. This video feels like you doing what you love because you enjoy it, and it just so happens that you shared it with us. Thank you.

Took years before he finally released the video. You can see Dev was a little thicker around this time 😂. Edit. Not everything should be taken perversely. Y'all need to grow up. It was meant as a compliment to Dev now because he slimmed down, losing probably 10-15 lbs since this video was taken.

Did you know that you can go to Heaven for free? This one decision can change your life and eternity forever. You've heard that Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead - it means He paid the price for your sins so you can be forgiven, saved and have a personal relationship with your Creator. All you have to do is be willing in your mind to have your life and heart changed, believe in your heart that Jesus rose from the dead and follow/seek Him daily. Watch how the Holy Spirit moves in your life.. much love and God bless you!!

Skill wise, Kyrie is easily the most skillful player to ever exist. No one even comes close to this dude. There is nothing he can’t do and he does it comfortably as well. I’m so glad he had such success in Dallas this year. He took a step back and played being a role 2nd option player. Probably the best version of Kyrie we’ve seen because of it.

5:02 is an excellent example of the difference in being a good player, and being in the NBA. Ol boy on offense lost his balance and did not think ahead of the pump fake. He maybe lost .2 seconds on what could have otherwise been a strong (but still contested) take.

Its crazy how kai's post work also has a deep bag. Like, guys like jalen brunson and other big body guards have their frame and weight in the post, whereas kyrie is almost entirely post moves to force the defender to make a step where kai can beat them. He does all this in an NBA that gets taller than him every draft.
