This kid has the right mindset & looks good on one on one lock down and trailer defense. If he gets his shot going & improves his vision and passing he'll get regular mins in the NBA.

I like defensive minded draft picks because there is a chance they can learn offence and learn when to take shots. It’s often harder to learn defence because it’s mostly rooted in effort and tenacity things that are harder to pick up.

Walsh’s potential is looking like a longer Dwhite type player. Good defense, passing, slashing, shooting, make the right play type guy, borderline all star/demi-god/spirit animal.

I can envision him as a young Dennis Rodman in those old Detroit Bad Boys days. Hes a banger and not afraid to do the dirty work. Hustle/energy guys are hard to come by. Those long ass Daddy Long legs arms give him an advantage. His wing span is insane. I'm looking forward to him carving out a quality nitche for himself on the team.
@deeptime558110 ай бұрын
not a Rodman....he has an offensive game, 3 pointers, drives, etcRodman did not
@josephringling76910 ай бұрын
@@deeptime5581 well yea I didn't mean Rodman offensively and yes Walsh can score. I'm saying, that's the role I can envision him having on the C's. They don't need him to score. They have plenty of scorers. But we could always use energy guys and guys not afraid to dive all over the floor with disregard for their own bodies. And another lockdown defender who can defend bigs and switch onto guards. That's his value and those things need to be his calling card if he wants to see minutes or significant minutes the next few years.

not his time yet, all this development in the g league is perfect for him to be ready for next szn
@Mitch_Feral10 ай бұрын
Nah, he's exactly where he needs to be - getting quality minutes, getting stronger, being a part of wins. Much better than grabbing 5 or 6 minutes every other game, trying to learn the big league sets on the fly.
@ryanb930510 ай бұрын
I think this year G league is good for him he won’t be getting many minutes this year on the Celtics barring injuries. He is getting good minutes here just needs to focus on getting stronger and bulk up.
@FezzesRCool1110 ай бұрын
Definitely needs to put on some strength, he's getting hurled around out there even on his made buckets at the rim. If he can gain some mass and iron out that three point shot to at least league average, he's ready for some legitimate NBA rotation minutes. The main problem is that he's got so many wings ahead of him in the lineup, all of whom are more NBA-ready than him. I can't fault Brad in going for this guy. He looks like he could be really special, and you have to seize that when you can. But he's got Tatum, Brown, Hauser, Mykhailuk, Brissett, and even Stevens who are ahead of him in that position. I guess the idea is that Walsh isn't going to be ready this year, while Mykhailuk and Stevens are on one-year deals, so they won't overly matter in that regard. Still, two of our best three players (I don't want to hear it, JB is top 3 on our team at worst) are wings. Did we really need to draft another? Whatever the deal is, I'm sure Brad knows a lot more about this shit than I do. He's got a plan, and if his track record is anything to go by it's a plan that'll work out just fine.

If he can develop a good reliable 3 he would be exactly what the Celtics need jrue, brown, Walsh, Tatum, porzingus. That is a long team. And d white off the bench with hauser and pp and queta. Solid team

I don’t really understand why he signed him to a 4-yr rookie deal when we could’ve just used a two-way on him and given him that same deal at the start of next season.
@bucknersrevenge10 ай бұрын
For a player they like as much as him, they're basically treating him like a late first rounder. Gives the team control of a player they clearly expect to have value by the end of his contract for a longer period of time, plus Bird Rights. Salary cap logistics.
