I would wait for the bat to get comfortable, seal the outhouse the best I without scaring them away, even if that means being patient and leaving bait to be sure as many as possible are inside. Then burn the whole thing to the ground with the bats inside.

They don't, it's just a story. Some larger species of rabid bats may bite, but that is generally not a possibility because of their poor eye site. Also bats with advanced rabies can't hang upside down anymore. Unlike dogs or racoons, the variants work differently in them.

Wonderful thing about stories sometimes is the creative liberties that can be taken to make it work. And also sometimes it can ruin the storyline completely. In this instance it did not harm the story for me whatsoever.

Im sorry, if coming from a hot spot, being stocked up on supplies to isolation in a cabin 5 hrs away to stay for a few weeks... gonna have to drive there right? Not WALK through heavily populated high foot-traffic areas, shaking hands w/ all passersby, correct? Just, drive straight through? Most vehicles r capable of a consistent 5 hr drive w/out running out of gas too. I really don't see the huge deal. Next step for the government-good ol' Martial law. U know it.
