Great back story with 3 of my favorite characters Surch, Letang and Ren. I love the richness of this world. Thank you PE. By the way what does P. E. stand for if you don't mind? Sincerely, Christopher Todd Delaroderie. PS. Your stories are such a welcome relief from all the grim data I have to pore over. If I had enough enough money I would simply go on a 1 year luxury cruise around the world. But I doubt all these messes will be resolved in a single year. Thank you again my friend.

@@mrtodddelaroderie I'm very glad to hear the stories offer that respite. That's a big part of why I love sharing them, regardless of whether people are struggling with tough day to day or relaxing on a cruise. Not sure if I'm willing to share the true meaning of PE, so let's call it "Potentially Entertaining"? 🤣

Man, you are inspiring. You write one a week and they always clear a clear bar you have for yourself. As a writer, far less prolific than you, every criticism I could have of your work is quickly answered by awareness of your level of quality and work ethic, an awareness of my envy. I'd be honored one day to share with you my work, my short stories which will, hopefully, one day have a similar breadth as your own, and as I know your own will one day. I plan on narrating and sharing in the same you have been. I'll message you someday to ask you to listen to one of mine as I have all of yours, though I'm sure I'll be under another name, I know it. Thanks Rowe.

Ganbatte, as the Japanese would say! I always encourage people to make art if they aspire to. My Mechanics of Fiction channel is always there as a resource, too. If I have a secret weapon, it's that knowledge of narrative, especially plot structure. It really helps to guide me on such a tight timeline. Good luck, and please do send me something when you feel the time is right 😃

@@RoweLit Have you read J.S Morin's "Galaxy Outlaws: The Complete Black Ocean Mobius Missions"? I had a lot of fun listening to it, and I enjoyed the mix of magic/science/space. I was reminded of it when I started your "Wizard of Athos" story. Do you have any long audiobooks I can sink into? How's Audible going for you? I wanted to mention based on my Audible experience as a listener, I try not to purchase any book below 20 hours. I consider this a flaw in the credit system since all books cost 1 credit. Why should I spend 1 credit on a 5 hour story when I can get a 50 hour story? I wonder if other listeners also share this behavior. Have you considered putting collections of your free stories on Audible? Even though I've already listened to many of your free youtube stories (thank you ❤) I'd happily purchase the same stories as a collection I could listen to again offline. Sorry for the rambling
@RoweLit Жыл бұрын
@@slowjocrow6451 Thanks, Jocrow! I haven't read Galaxy Outlaws, though from the title alone it sounds awesome. My reading time is severely limited right now by the demands of my work and writing schedule. Funny you should ask about Audible. I do put collections together and will be uploading the audio for the third collection this morning. It should be in the Audible store in the next week or so. Those collections do consist of these stories, not 50 hours worth, but this third one is trending toward 10. They start as print/e-book versions, so I have to balance the print cost against the flaw in the credit system at audible. They don't have any of the Misfits stories, because I'm planning on a collection for just those stories that stands alone, probably when I finish season one, maybe late this year, early next. That will be a long one!

I want to curse at you for turning me into such a simping fanboy. I'm 50 years old and I should have better things to do, but your stories and narration are just so f***ing good. Your ability to transform your voice for each character is uncanny, bordering on superhuman. I instantly recognize Burch's laconic drawl, Abali's Bronx accent, Leeda's clipped precision, or Micon's professorial tones instantly. I've read a lot of sci-fi over the years and this universe that you've created is as complex and compelling as anything I've ever read. Damn good work. Who do I talk to to get this turned into an “Expanse" type series? If this doesn't become the next big thing in sci-fi, it's only because the right people haven't read/heard it yet. See? I've been reduced to a blubbering fan boy. Goddamit, Rowe!

Hey, man! I can't say why I didn't tell you so earlier (I probably was a bit shy), but I want to thank you for your inspiration! (not to mention the great stories, of course). It was you, and you alone, who inspired me to upload my stories on KZbin. I was so lost among the countless Reddit narrations, and your channel, with the real stories from the original author, was like fresh air. Of course, your channel is better than mine because I'm unfortunately forced to use an AI voice, as English is not my first language, and while I can translate my stories, I'm too bad at narrating... But I'm hoping to get away from AI as soon as possible. I just wanted to thank you for your stories and inspiration and maybe chat a little bit ))) Keep writing! That's what we do as writers, right?
@RoweLit9 ай бұрын
Hi, Nik! Your channel looks great! 🚀🚀🚀🚀 That's so fun to hear I was a source of inspiration for your own adventure in sharing your work on YT! I'm not sure anyone can pay a higher compliment. I'm sure if you haven't heard the same already from other authors, you will soon! The AI right now is pretty good, and as you say, it makes it possible for you to get your work out there in English. It's also a tremendous time saver. I probably spend an equal amount of time to writing and editing my stories recording and editing the audio for the videos, so it definitely has some advantages. Keep up the great work! I'm looking forward to having some free time to listen! 😃🙏🚀🌟
@nikhein9 ай бұрын
@@RoweLit Speaking of narration and editing, I know what you are talking about. I have another channel (yes, I'm that crazy) in my first language, where I narrate my stories myself, and it is time-consuming. But still, I prefer the real human narration, despite how good AI is now. I started another channel first just for the heck of it, and it was doing so-so. I was researching whether such channels exist in English, and all I could find were countless Reddit narrations and a few channels of professional writers who put it up as a small side hustle with the rate of one novel upload per six months. And then I found your channel and thought: oh, at least somebody is still working on good short stories and has an audience, so I should try it, too. It just can't be that all that's left from a short story skill is identical "human wins over all aliens" teenage stuff. Thank you for your response and your stories, of course!

Every WWII , Korea, and Vietnam combat veteran I have known would not willingly go back into combat. That includes a couple of uncles and fellow unit members in the Army. They generally won’t talk about there experiences except to those who share the same. Especially those who are wounded.
@RoweLit Жыл бұрын
Thanks, Gecko. That is most definitely a fair reaction. When I was younger I worked a job where I got a chance to know many veterans from WWII, and some shared their experiences with me and many did not. The stories alone and the candor with which the ones who spoke about the things they did and witnessed left a deep impression.
