“The media does not talk about the women in Gaza who have been suffering from continuous vaginal and uterine bleeding for months because they lack the basic needs to take care of their own bodies,” shared Dr Asil al-Jallad, the Jordanian obstetrician who recently returned from Gaza after risking her life to assist expectant mothers.
In her interview with Middle East Eye, Dr al-Jallad details the harrowing conditions faced by women during the ongoing Israeli siege, highlighting the severe health challenges stemming from a lack of basic necessities.
During her month-long mission, she left behind her own children to provide critical medical care to hundreds of expecting mothers, assisting in the delivery of 500 babies at a field hospital in al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
