Justin, they have enormous faith in our creator that whatever happens to them it is Allah's plan. They can only do their best to survive, to fight, but ultimately their fate is in Allah's hands. They know Allah is just and fair, and if they are innocent and killed unjustly they will go back to Allah and given Paradise. They know this life is a test and it is a short life in this world.
