I married an Egyptian in our Orthodox church. It was beautiful but the best part was the reception. Our children's Godparents are Jordanian and they have thrown several other wedding parties that were so fun. Of course there are differences in a Christian wedding and Muslim wedding. I've never got to experience a Muslim wedding. I bet it is just as fun.

Yesss! My husband's brother got married and we were part of the fardeh (wildly crazy car ride thru the city) to the girl's house AND also to the bride and groom's new home after the party. ...and yes! it IS illegal! But sooooo much fun! Although we didn't hire anyone to do this, it was all of the relatives who were involved. I was trying to take video hanging out my car window of the new couple and the others who were driving just as crazy as us. Sooo much fun! It was at least 10 minutes thru the city! And the girls part of my husband's brother's wedding, the men also danced dabke. But I know definitely the girls party was much more fun! You could tell at many times the men were bored. And don't forget the kunafa and coffee! 😋 The day before this was the "hennna" party. As far as I know this was the party for the groom. Which was all dancing and super loud music! Loved every part if this. Maybe you can explain more about this part in your next video.

Rachel, do a video on the days before the zaffeh (especially for the bride's side when she's preparing)! In Tunisia, a wedding lasts 7 days/nights and each day has its own purpose. Is it the same in Jordan?
@noorqar4433
@noorqar4433 3 жыл бұрын
The same in Palestine, but the last years decrease gradually bacause of the high costs. Here in Nablus,my city, these traditions stopped, but in few villages and other cities still but less than the past. In My city, the tradition was celebration and parties in days before wedding and in days after wedding but now mostly just in the wedding day or the wedding day and the day before.

@@wilted_rose510 So.... After all, I was right 😊 In Khalleggee wedding style, is exactly the opposite way, other way around..., the wedding guests always eat their meal 🍴 🍽️ before the bride (Arousah) 👰 entrance (fil koshah)... Only after that, the bride enters the "Zaffah" party, stays there taking pictures 📷 📸 and only after that the groom (Khatib) 🤵 comes up with their fellows and comes in into the "Zaffah" party walking to the bride, dancing, etc.... Only then, they open up and give the wedding cake 🎂 Then, when the "Zaffah" party is over for the newly couple, the groom takes the bride with him, leaving the guests in the "Zaffah" to continue to party if they want to so..... Usually, only for dancing 💃 🎶 🎵 This is the "Zaffah" party Khalleggee style... 😊

@@wilted_rose510 Btw..... The music over there in Khalleggee wedding style is completely different from Shammi weddings.... The Shammi weddings are mainly the Dabkeh music..., meanwhile, the Khalleggee ones are Sheyllat music 💃 🎶 🎵 I personally love Dabkeh, but, I just can't even imagine make a step of it 😅 😅..... , most likely I would break up my legs immediately 😅 😭, so, basically, I love Dabkeh on others performance, watch others dancing Dabkeh and personally, I prefer dance Sheyllat style (Khalleggee) 💃 😍 Sheyllat is much better for me personally 😊 What about you!??? With respect to the men hall... It is not always boring as you think... It depends on the family of the groom... Some families are so modern and alienated themself from the foloklor... Therefore their men do not know how to do debka . And so it is exactly as you described... Men waiting and counting the seconds for the party to finish... Although the guests could be very willing and are capable of doing debka... But ofcourse the initiation has to come from the groom's family. Some conservative families would not allow men to come to the women hall and dance or do debka... But unfortunately this happens in most weddings... From an Islamic point of view this is not allowed (haram)

I'm guessing you're a revert Muslim based on your headscarf apologies if not. However, if you have recently reverted back to Islam then please sister remember Allah azzawajals rulings on observing Hijab. I would kindly recommend you read the Glorious Quaran and the seerah and Sahih (confirmed authentic) hadith from our Nabi (PBUH). Both primary sources of your religion explicitly forbid women singing in front of men. Music and dancing is also explicitly forbidden directly from those primary sources. Please spend some time learning about your new religion as you're sinless as a new revert but you're making basic mistakes in the Sharia. Also, don't simply follow "culture" and the crowd if they are sinning. Islam and the Sharia and Gods law applies wherever you are on Earth.

Like it a lot ❣️ In general, I love Arab Shammi weddings. However, yet, my favourite one are the Khalleggee 😍 The best ones are the Khalleggee w Saoudi 🇸🇦 My own weeding will be Saoudi style, InshAllah!! 💖 And, ya.... Saoudi w Khalleggee wedding style are Segregated, YES!!! 😑

Hello, I am Jordanian, and I thank you for presenting our culture to foreign countries in a wonderful way .. But There are a lot of things you haven't mentioned Like building a large tent, catering to hundreds of men, and firing bullets for celebration Because there is a lot when they watch a Jordanian wedding video and see that there are gunshots that they think are terrorist. So, you have to clarify so that they have the knowledge that this is within our traditions and culture in weddings and events And thank you again 🌹🌹🌹
