hmmm... Currently I run into this OOM issue in steam edition all the time, it is very annoying, I currently always have to save and re-load it between 2 airports. I just wonder if I have accidentally broken the VAS management in memory or something. I run FSX at pretty high (almotst maxed) settings and i have like over 30 payware addons (proabably spent upwards of 600US on addons) installed. What's your situation in terms of how many addons you have installed, settings and how often you run into OOM errors, because I have the feeling that i have broken some kinda .dll or something responsible for memory management. for example i ran Alta, small airport, with pmdg 737, and it already got 3.5GB by the time i had entered the runway (another airport Bergen, slightly bigger one, i managed to run over 3.9GB and crash before even taxing as i was configuring cockpit).

Ha!! I just flew from KPSP to KSBA (everything ORBX) with the Turbine Duke v2 on FSX and OOM'd on the approach to Santa Barbara. I'm definitely going to study about steam.

I got an OOM earlier today when trying to land in Miami intl. The add-on is called Miami X or something. I was using the Steam Edition. Few questions, if i save and reboot the game, will it clear the memory cache? And any tweaks in the settings i could do to prevent this?

+joe carr Unfortunately not. You will need to purchase the Steam edition separately but your addons will work.

I have made FSX:SE crash but it wasn't because of FSX:SE. My EVGA GTX570 HD card is very temperamental after i under-clocked it to what is normal for that type of card it so far is working fine. (just a note in-case you don't know EVGA cards are factory over-clocked) O yes I did enjoy the video thanks (:

Davede ,start your fsx computer build with a i5 4690k overclocked to 4.4, this cpu will run this game smooth, if you wanna spend more $ , then go with an i7
