im thinking its something to do with jk and jack both representing contrasting forms of masculinity with the white and the black. it kind of hit me when the man (with black and white hair) connects the device to the white side of his hair before jk pops up for a dance sequence. jk is excessively wearing white throughout the mv and on a staircase that makes him seem heavenly. jk's lyrics show enthusiastic consent with "if you're ready and if you'll let me" with all the hands reaching towards him, as the girls initiate contact with him (rather than him initiating). jack seems like a contrast to him as he potrays himself as a manwhore in his verse who used to be a "crook" bc he broke girls hearts. the chess game can also symbolise the battle between the two of them. idk its just what i've noticed and theres more to it but i havent thought that deep yet

I love the song's intro up until where JK sings "Body to body to body to body" at 4:18. The intro etc. up to that point was PERFECT. Then it picks up again near the chorus at: 5:20 till 07:59 without Jack's rap and then obviously again 10:39 - 12:32. I'd love a remake of the song keeping those parts and a reverb + lyric change between the choruses.

Glad you are being honest! People can get so defensive with jk and bts, but the truth is I feel like Jack Harlow’s rap part was pretty cringey and uninspired… I still don’t get his appeal and maybe I haven’t heard enough of him but here his “contribution” was a bit disappointing to say the least, in my humble opinion. I mean Latto on Seven was not impressive to me either, seemed like a bit old fashioned typical western style rap lyrics and delivery… and both songs are pretty good, love jk’s work on them! The songs would have worked well without the features.

That's so true. I don't get the features. Jk didn't need them for both songs. But there is an alternate were Jack isn't on it. The features just seems so forced for attention I think.

I think it was done with him and the label to get it into the western market and charts since in english which obviously is smart and done on purpose. Not saying he couldn't do it by himself but ig he himself liked how they fit since the artist has the last say on that which imo Jack does fine and gives it a duality of literally making fun of himself which is opposite of JK while lifting JK up at the same time. But it reaches a broader audience ofc but I'm interested in his solo songs coming in the album as well.

I personally didn't like Latto's part as well in seven but I think with the hip hop style, the rap fits much better. But also both songs aren't very deep songs so I also don't expect deep lyrics from any artist involved.

Definitely JK got inspired by the late 90's, early 2000 music video's of MJ (which he's a big fan of). Also backstreet boys and other boygroups of that time, recognizable with the melodies he's using in this song. More movie like, more storytelling..
