It's not "your" race. You don't own it or ever have even consciously and deliberately by choice, subscribed to it. To say that it is yours is actually a racist ideology taught to you and is as racist as anyone saying that "all black people are the same". Are you the same as everyone of your so called race? No. Anyone who would entertain the idea that you should feel a certain way based on your ancestry is a racist.

Great interview. I really notice the "up-talking" when speaking to people that lean into and are constantly exposed to what is commonly know as "wokeness". It has always thrown me off because it's so odd to hear someone talk that way. You helped me put a finger on what it actually is, which is "Validation seeking". NOW it makes a whole lot more sense. Also, it NEVER ceases to amaze me how many of these folks seem to forget that racism and slavery have existed since the dawn of human kind, and literally every "race" of people on earth has experienced it at one point in human history or another. It's not exclusive to U.S. history, nor is it exclusive to any particular skin color.

@@ktwashere5637 uptalk refers to ending your sentence with a rising pitch, similar to when you ask a question, but especially when you're trying to frame that question as open ended and nonconfrontational. Uptalk can be used on non-question statements of fact/opinion to signal that you care more about the other person's opinion of your statement than you care about defending your statement. The opposite would be ending on a neutral or falling pitch, which sounds very abrupt, direct, or even confrontational. This is what Matt Walsh does, and why he's an easy "black sheep" to spot in these leftist circles, where uptalk is the primary approach, to seek non-confrontation/validation of agreement.

Matt is spot-on about the guilt/religion analogy. Getting rid of Christianity does not get rid of the problem. It just gets rid of the solution. My grandpa was sold into slavery in the 1920s. In America. He was a German/Polish immigrant and his parents sold him to a childless couple. He was abused and dehumanized by his owners until he turned 16 and managed to run away. I have American slavery more recent in my past than *any* African American in this country today. And the thing is, this was actually a fairly common practice. Many white sons and daughters of that time were sold into slavery long after it was abolished. Also, it happened in Minnesota, the most Liberal hell-hole in the entire country.

There was a time where my empathy/sympathy for fellow black students dealing with their own demons regarding "Racism" went so far that it led me to White Shame. Not mere guilt. Lesser than. Yet, my head and heart were at least not dumb enough to just accept it as my fate in life. Especially from a Christian mindset ( along with my classmates ), where we all are on equal footing, value, dignity under God. It took a while to finally disentangle from the shame, especially when so-called "friends" cut me off for basically being shame/guilt-free for my skin tone and "race", but the freedom and healthy self-love has been absolutely worth it. I thought the whole point was to embrace each other as fellow human beings, being fair, extending common courtesy and respect. Color-Obsessionism has gotten so ridiculous, but the Industry is profitable. Has been for decades, if not hundreds of years. Yes, there are those with a poverty / bondage mindset ( which can affect any human being ), and like you say, "their light is dull". Amen. Agree. It’s cool. When I was in university I had a class called relational psychology. We had a bit of a hippie professor. The entire premise the structure of the class was based upon was something that the prof called ‘the believing game’. Where you literally DO NOT question what you’re told. This isn’t something done to change minds or indoctrinate. It was because we were in a class and sharing intimate, sensitive details with one another. It allowed for a very interesting environment for me. Very weird. But it accomplished its task and people were NOT afraid to say ANYTHING. Some wild shit was discussed in that class.

I saw the movie yesterday and loved it. I laughed many, many times. I also very seriously sat forward in my seat and tried to absorb the thoughts contained within. It is disturbing to see so many people be so ridiculous and unlogical. It was very encouraging to see the many interviews with normal people, though. Most people, I think, know how silly all of this race talk is. I'm proud of Matt for taking it seriously and putting himself out there, for all of us, to really show it for what it is. I highly recommend this movie. There are people out there pushing this agenda. We need to be prepared to meet it and defeat it. For our children and ourselves. Let this be our mantra: I refuse to feel guilty or responsible for others' actions. I refuse to feel guilty or proud of the color of my skin. I refuse to feel like a victim or an oppressor. I am solely responsible and accountable for my own actions and words. The next film should be about the attack on masculinity and femininity and how we have relied and continue to need and rely on them to this day. They must be protected and respected. I’m a Christian but I agree with Peterson on this one. Even though we are in desperate need of god/religion as a society, I think this issue comes from virtue signaling. No one actually feels guilty. If they did, their actions would be backing up what they say in the form of reparations etc. No, this is all about being hip with the times and being accepted into the “in group” of liberalism. Once they’re in, I’m sure it feels similar to being in an exclusive club, only this one prides itself on being morally superior to everyone else. No wonder people are buying into these crazy ideas. But Matt still has a point- this world needs Jesus and is finding substitutes for what only he can provide. Including our morals!

Excellent question!! We read in Acts 17:26-27 "He (God) made from one man every nation (ethic group) of mankind to live on the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of the dwelling place that they should seek God..." Prior to the fall of man in the Garden we read God had created man in the likeness of God to rule God's creation. After the fall in the Garden man was incapable of ruling God's creation as God intended, we can't even govern ourselves. We read in Genesis 6 that the thoughts of man are continually evil and this evilness of man did not change even after the flood. God sent is Son, Jesus, to live among man, being the Son of God and Son of man. Jesus, who IS the image of God, lived perfectly according to God's word. As the Son of man Jesus earned the right to rule God's creation as God intended man to rule. It is through Jesus that all the tribes of the earth can live in peace with one another as we seek Jesus, the God/man (Acts 17:26-27). It is only through Jesus do we find redemption and forgiveness of sin. It is through Jesus we become co-heirs with Christ to rule as God intended for man to rule His creation. GOD IS AMAZING, THANK YOU JESUS!!

@tommyrq180
@tommyrq180 Ай бұрын
Millennial-speak is more complex than up-talk, which is but one of three affectations they assume (and to be clear, it is primarily assumed by female and feminine male millennials). The second is “vocal fry,” or a masculine growl that starts lightly and grows in each sentence, ending in a sometimes laughable male down-talk. The third, one most miss, is the use of “half-vowels” or a collective mispronunciation of vowels which turns them into, for example, half short “a” and half short “o” when only one or the other would be correct. They mispronounce words in the same way, making it an easily heard affectation. They would pronounce affectation, for example, as ahfectayshon. “Conversation” is an example of a popular millennial word choice where they pronounce it “cawhnversayshon.” Half-vowels are riddled throughout this speech pattern. Once you make the connection, you cannot unhear it! Just my two cahnts! 😂

The way I see it, I take pride in having gained some skills and working all my adult life (until retirement) to support myself and my family. I'm not ashamed of my white skin but it's not like it's a qualification I earned. I really think we need to move away from this "white pride - black pride" thing and focus on character or we'll never free ourselves from the current plague of pernicious race-grifters.

@@andrewfleming8103 After being told to hate it and seeing what the other races do I'm definitely proud now and would rather not be around blacks.

@@micahweiss there is absolutely nothing to unpack here. It’s a simple statement that isn’t that complex to understand. White, black, orange, blue, etc. everyone can be proud of their color.

Dear Dr Peterson.. thank you for your courage and hard work. I’d love to see you undertake a small study into the subtle differences between how ‘white guilt’ is weaponised in the USA (where there is the history of imported slaves) and similar Anglocentric nations (Australia, Canada, New Zealand..) where there is not the history of slavery and so it falls back to genocides and mistreatment of indigenous tribes.. god bless.

The only “race” is the human race. The changing of the words definition was the catalyst for the polarization of skin color. This effort to dehumanize and thus justifying the bigotry of low expectations. Deeming people another race was not the child of “racism”, but the father.

Glad to see you’re doing good Mr. Peterson! Also, a big thank you to both of you! For helping save our worldwide society, from the incompetent individuals! Who think they’re all that and a bag of potato chips. Ha! With hardly any, or no true genuine experiential value, education, or skill! Excuse me, I will finish listening. But need to tend to my 80-100+ hour 7 day work weeks, of mostly labor. Year round, and most outdoors in the elements! (While still attempting to educate, and refine myself in the little free time I have!) 💪🧠💰

I love being white and I love that every single member of my family is white as are all my ancestors....not a single member of my family would ever even consider mixing salt and pepper in the same jar and non of us are racist we just know what's right and what's wrong...simple
