I used to work for a guy like Babcock. It was near the end of my career anyway, so I retired. Life's too short to deal with that crap.

It wasn't stupidity, it was unadulterated arrogance.

I remember watching a Hawks vs Wings game in like 2009 and my brother who isn’t a hockey fan walked into the room as the camera was on Babcock and he was pissed about something that had happened In the game and just had this jerkoff look on his face. My brother goes “that guy looks like he’s the biggest asshole.” I told him he’s a really good coach and he said “you can just tell he’s a terrible person”. Turns out he had a spot on first impression hahahaha.

He was never a good coach. I could have won with that Detroit team and the Canadian team. Canada almost lost to a much inferior US team.

He was never going into the HOF

@@jackmakackov7077fr he’s actually a giant underachiever who’s been really lucky to coach the teams he did during his career.

2:24 you just KNOW Hayes wanted to say “shitty person” and had to hold back since he was on tv
@artemia793 ай бұрын
Hayes is trying to sugarcoat this for some reason. You hired Mike so I'm gonna give you Mike. No!!!!! He's not changing himself... he's being himself. I still can't believe he did this after everything that had been said about him before. I feel so freaking bad that this guy is from my home province. We don't learn that shit here. We're respectful, we appreciate hard work, we're blue collared and honest. Fuck Mike Babcock. Sorry for the language.

What a pos this guy was in Toronto, and for all those people who say he deserves a second chance… just stop

Guy's on his like 9th chance now..... even for Hockey, where they only hire about 40 guys EVER, that's just absurd.

Thought I was the only one who couldn't stand him. He is a moron. Always interupping Noodles, or trying to make suggestions on what the show should do. And his questions of guests are embarrassingly bad. He is there for comic relief only.

Babs probably won’t be invited to Detroit and Team Canada celebrations but will show up anyway and ruin the vibes.

No matter who you are, don't ever take the head coaching job in Toronto. It's career suicide. Everything about the franchise is pure garbage. Management, fan base, and media are not worth the headache.
@bobp3632 ай бұрын
Thats a idiotic statement .Im no leafs fan but blurting out garbage like you did says so much more about you then anything else .Toronto's media is nasty yes ,but their knowledge of the game is top notch .Are the fans cocky considering they have not won anything in almost 60 years ? of course .But they hang on every game and every minute like no one else and they are as loyal as any fan base in sports .Management throws too much money at winning each year and doesnt plan enough for the future , but you could say the same thing about 25 other teams each year whos product is inferior to theirs .The Leafs make the playoffs year in and year out and consistently have 100 points or more .Winning the Stanley Cup is the hardest thing to do in sports ,everything has to work perfectly from game 1 of the season to game 7 of the finals and you need to remain healthy and have the best chemistry of players .I watched my team win 4 cups in a row when i was in my teens and we didnt win until we fit the final couple pieces of the puzzle perfectly , I thought we would have 10 cups by now and we havent made a finals in 40 years .getting the right mix and once again even more important ( Chemistry ) is the difference .It has nothing to do with the media or the fans ,its the players and the coaches and a shitload of luck at the perfect time because you never know who will fit in with who ... think before you speak in the future ..im sure your mouth has made you look idiotic long before today ..grow up ..the time has come stop blurting things out like your 12 .. but ,we all know you wont change and have probably made similar comments 100 times before ...have a fantastic day ...

@canuck_gamer33592 ай бұрын
Bottom line here is something we all probably know already and that is some people just are not cut out to be put in a position of leadership with people under them. This guy is a good example of that and frankly, I'm surprised he got as far into an NHL coaching career without being called out. O dog's most powerful point is that literally nobody in hockey has a nice thing to say about the guy. That speaks volumes...even Tortorella has players etc. who will say good things about him!
