TRANSLATION: Running a campsite with people from all over the world can be challenging at times. From time to time, conflicts arise that must be dealt with quickly. In this case, it concerned the customer's unwillingness to comply with the rules we have, including demands for payment for the stay. So according to him they were presumably unwilling to pay for the third person and there was a discussion about the rules. There's always two sides to a story and I don't think this was unreasonable.

To be fair he was probably upset they tried to cheat him. Having three people in the cabinfor the price of two. That doesn't excuse his behaviour though. However there's two sides to this story I'm sure.
@humansarenottofu11 ай бұрын
I don't know what accommodations he provided for them-- maybe it can be a problem if he provides breakfast like in hotels, because there would be one extra person to feed but I highly doubt it. Maybe an extra person will affect a slight increase in water and electricity usage, but it shouldn't be that high, is it? And the third person didn't ask for extra bad so they probably planned to just sleep with the other dudes or on the floor. Regardless, they said that he was very confrontational. So even if he was in the right, he didn't comply it to them politely.
@peacefulminimalist202811 ай бұрын

Nah, you were asking for it by putting yourself in that situation. Norwegians are also one of the most hidden racists I’ve seen in my whole life, and the further you go north the more openly racist they become. In places like Hammerfest you can find people that are so racist that they even discriminate against people from Oslo, meaning that any difference is a reason for creating conflict.
@briannahudson632911 ай бұрын
Imagine booking a place for 2 people then without notice or warning showing up with 3 people and when the owner of the place you booked isnt happy about how you suddenly sprung an extra person on them so now they have to find a bigger place or an extra bed or lose out on income you write a bad review saying they are "looking for confrontation" because they were upset you did something in violation of the contract you made when booking. Then when they confront you about it you refuse to answer the question they ask and are intentionally antagonistic even after the still did what they could to accommodate you after you broke your contract.

@savagesam20510 ай бұрын
Exactly - the attitude of the owner can’t be justified in any way, but the way I see it is that this is just another “influencer” who thinks he can get away with everything and won’t take no for an answer. He booked for two, but insisted a third could tag along. Even if he had the intention to pay an extra fee, the owner could politely disagree to host the third person. And those short videos show only one side of the story and can be very subjective.
@naomiishida736610 ай бұрын

We honestly did not know if he was planning to scam or the 3rd person just decided to come along, as someone who also do Airbnb this happened to me before in my one bedroom apartment and all I told the group was I can give access to the pull out couch but it will be an extra fee they said ok and that was it. They paid the fee and stayed for 2months until they got their own apartment as students just arriving in Canada. I am not sure why the own act that way if he had and extra bed and they where willing to pay. Also not sure why they didn’t book for 3 no judgment but issue could handle better as adults. We read a review and it said a husband and wife went to the motel for their honey moon and he started flirting with her. Keep in mind he was about 50 and these ppl were in their late 20s, when the lights went out and he started banging on their door saying he needed to speak to the girl privately. She walked out the door and he tried to grab her, they left immediately stepping on about 20 roaches . Be safe my Aussies in Narooma that’s were it happened.🙏🏾

That's why I travel Norway on a cruise ship. No doubt it is a less authentic experience because you spend less time on land, but 1. it is far cheaper with accomodation + 3 very good meals + lots of entertainment 2. some stunning views of the fjords can only be seen from the coastline 3. to cover many places, you may need to drive for 10+ hours from one place to another due to the mountainous terrain, but it only takes an overnight sleep 💤 on the ship, because the sea route is straight
