In the first piece she's citing the main theme from Felix's ouverture to Die Erste Walpurgisnacht

Lovely. Her father decided Felix would be a musician, and Fanny, as a woman, would be an ornament. This music is more than that. She should have been a musician. At least her husband encouraged her music.

Strange comment. She was a great musician. Success does not depend on the outside but on the internal accomplishment. It is indeed tragic that society and tradition held her back.
