Buying currency + 1 premium upgrade not on sale would 'lose' 20 coins. That's about the maximum I would recommend wasting before sale, as playing for even a week without the currency tab or ability to trade might just not be fun (if the 3 week cycle persists and I'm not mistaken, then the sale should be 1 week into poe2).

I would recommend: currency -> maps -> fragments -> 1x premium -> unique -> essence -> 1x quad. Unique - especially as a new player back in the day game me an immence amount of joy just collecting and seeing the % going up.

Is the unique tab big enough to hold ALL of the uniques? I tend to horde uniques in case I wanna use them later. In LE I had many tabs for uniques and set items.

Just to clarify for new players, as it was poorly explained in the video. If you set affinity on, then even if you are in another stash tab and you click-insert the item into your stash tab, then the item will go to the correct stash tab automatically and into the right slots.

I would recommend the to start with the currency and premium stash tab, play through the campaign and purchase some other tabs in endgame when you feel like you need/want more. Also wait for stash tab sale that happens every 3 weeks or whatever it is again xD

id say premium stash tab for selling, a currency and map stash tab and play endgame and buy what creates friction for you. one thing though for currency trading you can use alva exchange which takes a lot of pressure of trading

To add one thing not clarified (specifically explained): when you buy tabs, they are ALL available to you each and every league. The "remove only" is what you see when you look at your account in the standard league AFTER the current league has passed. When you start a new league all the tabs you bought in the past are empty when you log in. Each league is a fresh start. To echo others, don't be in a hurry: 1) Only buy tabs on sale 2) DON'T buy regular tabs, just premium 3) Color Coded tabs are great 4) Quad tabs are awesome for Dump tabs and selling

One nice feature that was added a few leagues ago is folders. For example I have a 'dump' folder with a few tabs in it (plus in PoE1, gems and flasks for % collecting), and a folder for special tabs (like the currency, essence, maps, etc.) and finally a folder for the 40 or so other tabs I thought I needed pre-filterblade when I thought I needed to keep everything 'just in case'.

the best recommendation I can recommend is to not spend your points till you're at endgame. That way you know what stash tabs you need. I do believe you get 4 stash tabs for free on a fresh account so don't worry about spending your points because you're not going to be using your stash till you get to the end game and start farming. 10 yr poe veteran here, agree with premium, currency and a quad tab as your dump tab. Play for a week or two, make it to mid-late endgame before deciding on what other tabs will be of most use. Stash tabs go on sale every 3rd week but I am not sure when they will next go on sale.

So strange that people think stash tabs are "pay to win". Stash isn't going to fill itself for you. In most cases, it just makes your stashes more organized. At most, it saves time from having to play tetris.

While I do consider them to be a "pay to win" purchase, since they are good for forever and you don't actually need too many of them I generally just consider them the actual price of the game. And considering how many hours I have in POE I think they are a fair payment.

You don't need any stash tabs as a new player. Even if you decide to hoard everything worthwhile you find instead of selling gear you don't need for currency, you still can easily store 4 characters worth of gear before you need an expansion. Frankly, 4 characters is plenty and you should not hoard gear anyway, after you are done with mapping on a build and you are ready for another build, sell the previous builds items for currency sp that you can use the profit to buy better gear for current build. And if you are a casual player you'll probably finish like 3 builds per league tops and so you can easily fit all the gear in the base stash tabs.

It goes into the standard realm and you can keep using it there. But leagues reset every 3-4 months

currency drops in game from everything you do, mapping, bosses etc. You can't buy currency in POE, you have to earn it all in game. It;s a reward for skill or time you invest into the game

Fragments might be needed to ascend. I like the unique tab if I wanted to play standard league instead of the league that is currently live. Or if I find a Goldrim on your first character in the league and you know that you will make other characters that helm, that is if they keep it as is will handle resistance in the early game for a long time to come.

I had 7 quad and 31 small premium when I started kalguur, I got 3 more quads when I ran out of space. Generally I'd say 31 small is too much and I'd rather convert 16 of them to 4 more quads (sadly, that's not possible). I wouldn't start with just quads though. You probably want to get to at least 10 tabs total for sorting and selling at different prices, then start adding more quads if you run out of space. Everything in quads does look a lot smaller and some ppl may just not like it as much as I do (though that one quad for primary dump is still very good imo). In terms of price to space ratio, 6-premium bundle is the most efficient deal, as long as you don't do my mistake and get too many of those before trying out more quads :).

Pay to Win involves having an advantage over others . Stash Tabs are just Empty Space its Still RNG Or Trade ya put in Stash tabs they do not win on there own, its Pay for Convivence. The same player with no extra stash tabs can just manage their default tabs i think its 4. just get dont horde everything ya dont really need. and Normal tab also have affinity just not color or able to rename them and no trade option. also i maybe would hold of on maps tab as they might have a different sorting of waystones requiring a new tab entirely .

I believe affinities are included free. They work on any tab no purchase necessary. You did mention sales but you didn't really impress how important it is that new players wait for one. You almost double your value doing so. Thats rule #1 for me, always wait for a sale.

I agree there's little reason to buy tabs outside of sale, but saying it's 'double' value is misleading. The sum of all my tabs gets 26% discount on sale compared to non-sale. Just for a dump list the price changes of the most notable tabs: currency tab 75->60, quad 150->120, premium bundle 200->165, single premium (and most 'special' tabs) 40->30; premium upgrade 15->10.
