My interpretation of the map system: 1, you can choose the next location (this determines biome and initial extra content) 2, with waystones you select the difficulty by the tier of the waystone and crafted properties on it. 3, with towers you can add extra content to locations. I believe you can travel further even if you use tier 1 waystones all the time (if you want.)

Looks like an amalgamation of delve and atlas. Different biomes depending on where you are. Noteworthy locations to be discovered. That in addition to the traditional map action.

Here's the hero I'd like to see. Warrior with a shield/sword in set 1 and Spear in set 2. The passive skill straight to the right into dex with elemental damage. Kinda similar to the amazon in D2, maybe with lightning spear throw. Can you see this happen? Basically a Huntress starting as a Warrior

I agree; it's 100% a free-to-play game. I have around 600 hours played over the many leagues and didn't buy stash tabs till around 400 hours. You have to do serious mental gymnastics to call stash tabs pay-to-play.

Not exactly new but still a nub in POE1. Planning on being more active in POE2. Would love to find a guild to play with, try out some multiplayer builds. In most MMO style games i like being support, it doesn't look like they have focused on any support style builds for POE2 yet though. The initial build I want to try to make is a monk summoner called Corpse Storm. Use summons as extra defense and dmg while going for the Invoker Ascendancy. Hopefully the Templar will be released soon and I can try a pure support build focusing on auras and buffing totems.

What do you think the learning curve will be for someone with 1K+ hours in Grim Dawn, I never played the original POE or Diablo4....?? I'm so use to Grim Dawn, this game could be hard to adjust too.

You should be ok. You'll be able to figure out skill synergies quickly enough. Poe lends some things from grim dawn with the skill tree system to a degree

@Eric-qx1kx at this stage, you can switch your ascendency in the ea. So you sort of gotto be sure of what you're doing. I'd say that will change pretty quickly. You get a skill points each time you level up that you can allocate to the skill tree

One concept i did not understand so far are gem tiers. I understand you can level up individual gems to make them more powerful, but it seems those gems are also tiered from 1-3? Whats up with that?

yep. Think of it as a totally different league. You can only play with people within your own league.

Don't worry. at early access in POE2 there will be only one league which is the Standard League, and will run at least 6months. It is irrelevant to think now about Leagues in POE2.

Personally I hate the "monsters level with your level" as in D4 because it's just never feed into that LargerThanLife fantasy I want to feel when I find some great gear/loot ingame. So do you know if mobs are at set levels during PoE2 campaign or they level up with your character? I google but found nothing about it. 😉

It’s what happens in a place where anyone with thumbs can comment. Hopefully, just very young and don’t know any better. I noticed the $30 cost to join EA was called pay-to-play. It’s EA. You’re paying for early access. The fully released game is free to play. Not like this matters anyway. Such an incredible game for $30, even if that was permanent, the correct response is: “thank you for 1,000s of hours of gameplay for only $30!”

Would really appreciate more details, because the video is called for "new players", but sometimes you just throw terms around und don't explain them . For example: Breach mechanic has also an Atlas tree(nice, but wtf does that mean?) and you will be able to use it like in poe 1( also nice, but I am a new player who never played poe1, soooo still what does that mean?)

Its just a thing you can find in game that gives rewards and you can power up via it tree just like every other mechanic.

Breach was an expansion or league mechanic in PoE 1. As you played through the game every now and again you would come across these ghost/wisp hands that would protrude from the ground. If you ran over them it would spawn a radiating circle that open up to another world for a short time, in which monsters/demons would start pouring in. The more of them you killed the longer this breach would remain. So that's what is meant by the Breach mechanic. What is meant by also has an atlas tree, is that for the endgame content, like your character has a passive tree to gain nodes for power and abilities etc. The endgame also has a passive tree if you will, the atlas tree. Which can change and enhance different aspects of playing the endgame (endgame is anything after you have completed the main storyline). Now the atlas tree has mini trees around it with which you can further specialise into. One of those mini trees is a Breach tree, so you can gain more rewards/make it harder etc. I hope that helps :)

Im a wow player atm but recently got a baby girl so I get like 30 min windows at the most that I can play so wow seems like a waste of time. Is path of exile still enjoyable while playing 30 min a couple of days a week?

Yeah. It'll be harder, but Doable. I only play for 2 hours most nights and work in a pretty hectic job and travel etc

Loot filters help with this and they sort good from bad. You also get to know the low value unique after a while. I'll cover that when the game hits. But im gonna go through support gems tonight.

Yup poe is not new player friendly at all its so dumb u have to no life the game and treat it as a second job smh.. Thats y I didnt like poe1 and just play Diablo games. I'ma give POe2 a chance hopefully its a lot better the poe1 cause that game was garbage.

To the folks whining pay to play, if a stash tab is the most you’re gonna have to pay for…quit bitching. Or idk, maybe don’t be poor. The amount of content these people created and are offering for FREE is absurd. Especially when you consider the trash mountain of AAA alternatives out there that charge you full price while also having micro-transactions. The fact that anyone could complain about paying such negligible amounts is absolutely ludicrous.

Genuine question to the veteran players - will you just ditch PoE or you will be back eventually playing here and there after PoE2 is out? I mean if you have l a standard build that took you thousands of hours to make you wouldn’t just forget it, would you? The character is probably something that you know well and aged together - like a wife 🤣

No pay to win elements, so you are starting a guide with a lie. Nice. You need extra stash tabs. its unfeasible to play without them as you CANT TRADE WITHOUT PREMIUM STASH TAB. So unless you win condition is unrealistic "Solo-self-found" then no its not really f2p.

nope, you're not correct and the community is pretty clear about this topic. sorry. many players dont buy tabs until a few hundred hours in as most are not trading at that level as a new player
