@@acct4600 that’s a very reductive understanding of how skin works. Im lucky to have very clear skin, but I do wear makeup and i dont have a skincare routine. however due to my cycle I sometimes break out. It’s got nothing to do with how much makeup I wear. There are multiple factors - genetics, hormones, age, mental health, immune system, diet, climate and environment (i have a friend who has bad skin in humid countries) and of course makeup may play a part but has it ever occurred to you that someone might already have the bad skin and wish to cover it up? The least you could do is acknowledge that the skin is an organ and like many organs there are various factors, both internal and external, that can affect how well it operates. Because skin (and particularly the face) is an organ that we look at, we feel that we can assume the entirety of someone’s life choices by looking at it. There are men and people who don’t wear makeup at all who suffer from bad skin. Even worse, we assume that if someone has good clear skin it’s because they look after it. That’s not always the case. You’re proving my point that if she didn’t have clear skin you would not find it refreshing bc you’d be judging her.

"I do wear makeup and i dont have a skincare routine." --- so you have naturally clear skin but you don't take care of it... noted. "however due to my cycle I sometimes break out." --- its natural to have PMS related hormonal swings that can affect acne, but wearing a face full of makeup daily that covers & clogs up your pores certainly doesn't help. "It’s got nothing to do with how much makeup I wear" --- this is like saying, my doctor told me eating BBQ pork daily had nothing to do with my high blood pressure, but eating healthier certainly WILL HELP with that condition & won't hurt if you decide to do it. you're only getting away with not having a skin care routine & slathering on makeup daily because of your age. once you get older, those good genetics that caused you to have naturally clear skin, will no longer help you & the years of mistreatment of your skin will start to show. women will come up with any excuse to wear weaves, makeup & all these unnatural things that make them look worse because they're so socialized culturally to do these things. it becomes tradition more than necessity. you really don't need it. alicia keys stopped wearing makeup, she didn't need it. like you & jorja smith, she has decent skin naturally. its probably a good thing not to mess it up by suffocating your pores daily with makeup, chemicals & other harmful agents we put on our skin.
