9/2023: Wonderful. Jorma is a part of living history. A great musician and an innovative far better guitar player then his is given credit for. I know that this is an Old video, but thank you for posting this concert by one of The Greats. Best Regards To All

This was originally a Hot Tuna scheduled date, however they parted ways about three weeks before this date. Jorma stepped up and played the show solo. The footage shows only two hours, but he played five hours that night. Typical Tuna show ran 3- 5 hours.

+Jim Kauchak ---must have been early show---your right late shows always went four plus as everyone was tripping as was jorma and then he would announce time to drop a quaalude as the show winded down at five am--talk about hardest working men in rock and roll well these guys were musical junkies and each nite would play hours as if to fix but how would he remember what songs were played and my god those fingers picking two shows on acoustic man he was truly one of a kind we never will see again and still going amazingly at 75 thank god he got straigtht and found spirituality as i heard he actually converted to judaism although he is named jorma kaudonen jr-lol-ronny

+ron levon Very nice comment Ron, but it's hard to read without any periods or comma's...I have never heard of Jorma until yesterday, Jan 2nd, but I can't stop listening to him...

+ron levon o, but for the good ol' days... i remember walking into the palladium while it was still light out--for early show--and emerging after late show into the dawn--having entirely missed the moon...

This guy righthere could play a guitar like a ringin a bell, seriously. One of my favorite lps is hot tuna double dose for those that don't know its a double lp with one full acustic and one electric and he gives ya a full range of his ability. Yea, here sits a very underated nearly unknown. Thanks for posting

First year Jorma went solo, before White Gland come around, haha. A gem in the world of music no doubt. Thanks for keeping these old Capitol Theatre tapes alive, and putting them up so they can continue to be appreciated.

Oh yeah, I believe this is the concert I saw...I know I was still in high school, but I drove there, so it had to be '78 or '79...and we had seven people in the car, that I recall...but it was my mother's 1966 Chrysler Newport, so it wasn't too bad...but yeah, he did the acoustic and then electric thing...

Jorma, What a genuine gift of an artist to us all, IMHO. When you get he and Jack together, it is of course pure heaven, on another plane. Heavenly even without Jack, if that is possible, as these old videos show. I'll take acoustic Tuna anyday of the week.

Can't remember if I've thanked you before, so I'll do it again - THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS CONCERT VIDEO! I've watched nearly everything there is of Jorma, HT, JA, etc. out on the internet. And been seeing him/them for most of my life. Jorma's streaming concerts including #11 last night (6/13/20) are great! But this is mesmerizing! 1979 as well. Yes, not perfect sound or video. Doesn't matter. Watching him play and sing (his whole being into it), the songs and how he made them sound. Transports me to another place/time. Just fabulous!

No - that phase-shifted Ovation guitar sound had nothing whatsoever to do, I'm sure, with how absolutely fantastic it sounds when you're tripping your brains out.

Jorma did the electric show at the palladium i think the same week. It was jorma, bob steeler and nick buck. No bass. It was the hot tuna electric band without jack. It was loud and rampage. Prob the last real rampage show

This video is very weak: voice is nearly imperceptible in the mix, and the visual is grainy, blurry, and washed out. 3 1/2 minutes of nothing but stage crew at the start-- easily edited out if Jam&Psych cared to take 1 more minute of their time. And Jorma? This concert does NOT show his good talent. The exact same basic playing style for 2 hours; songs are boring; he is NOT a good singer and that is on display here, if you can make it out in this poor mix. I was a big JeffAir fan back then, and Jorma had moments of brilliance then. This however is Thumbs Down.
