Hi Joe, been thinking about you and hoping you are going well. How's the weather situation been back there? Grass looks pretty brown. We had about 6 weeks where the daytime high was over 100 degrees and that broke a couple days ago with a big forest fire in the hills surrounding the town I live in. I know you enjoy seeing him but by allowing him to eat will make him keep coming back. and he will become a nuisance to you and others. I have black bears around me all the time and they wind up having to be euthanized if they get accustomed to human food.

Hi Jo, I hope you get your hip replacement soon and that it is not too painful in the mean time. I started milling last summer and I cannot thank you enough for all the time and effort you have put in sharing your experience. There was a black bear seen around here a few weeks ago. I’m 60 years old and have never knew of a bear being around here. There was pictures of it on the local tv news. That’s a powerful and beautiful animal.

Just FYI this is not a brown bear... It is a chocolate color phase Black bear. They also come in Cinnamon, Blonde, and black. Yes they are certainly beautiful bears. I harvested a big Chocolate in Montana, and I have the bear in a complete standing mount. He weighed 500 lbs and was delicious. I did a fair chase hunt and got very lucky.
