Joscho seems to have superhuman ability on the guitar and I really don't think anyone else could play this. He's playing mainly at breakneck speed but his accuracy is just astonishing and he never loses the feel for the music. That ultra-fast strumming is totally beyond anything I've heard before. What can I say - wow !!!.
@ayokay1235 жыл бұрын
On this particular piece, there aren't a whole lot of folks who could pull it off. Tommy Emmanuel and Richard Smith definitely could.

As far as the whole package: groove, chops, feeling, rhythm, tightness, etc...I don't believe there is anyone in the history of the world better than Joscho. And for me, that's saying a lot. I've got my own personal favorites. Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Waters and Dimebag Darrell. And before you even respond with a list of people "better than them", keep in mind, I'm not saying those guys are THEE GREATEST of all time. I fully acknowledge there are and have been guitarists who are more "technically proficient" than them. Those three are my favorites for their whole package, and their individual styles. But as far as Joscho is concerned, I seriously believe he's got the entire package better than anyone to ever pick up a guitar. He's AMAZING!

That's your opinion and I respect that. Joscho has an amazing technique for sure, I won't argue with that. But you mentioned Stevie Ray and Dimebag Darrell, two guitarists that I too like a lot. Their technique sure wasn't perfect, there are many who are better. But the stuff that they played was mostly their own music. There are thousands of guitarists who could play the solo in Floods for instance, but there was only one guy who composed that solo and that was Dimebag Darrell. That's the difference. He created a classic solo that has inspired so many people. I think that's what makes those two that you mentioned so special. Not only their technical skills on guitar or their innovative and creative guitar playing, but their ability to create a song or a melody that many will remember for the rest of their life once they've heard it. That's what I haven't heard from Joscho so far. If only he'd slow down his playing a little bit and would not try to make each song so technical... But I'm not judging, that's just my opinion. I didn't like this performance of his. I much prefer Django's version even though this was way more technical. But so many others did enjoy this one and that's what's important.
