Very much a newer fan of MMA, but its not hard to see why people love Aldo so much. To come out at 37 and do what he did after years off, and not only that, but to see a man as humble as he is, genuinely inspiring. Looking forward to wherever he goes from here.

I get the feeling Max Holloway will also have similar longevity given that despite him being past his athletic prime, he's still very much near top of the food chain in terms of elite skills. Only question is how long does that Hawaiian chin hold up.
@frenchfriedtaters6 ай бұрын
@@madgavin7568 Max is 32. 27-33 is typically an athletic prime age range. He’s clearly not past it at all you’re waffling. And if anything Maxs reliance on volume and chin won’t age aswell as Aldo’s lower output lower risk style.
@madgavin75686 ай бұрын
@@frenchfriedtaters I keep hearing this myth all the time as if to somehow imply that Max isn't past his prime. He absolutely is past his athletic peak. His best years were from 2017 to 2021, that was when Max was at his fastest and most confident to engage. That was when Max put on those ridiculous volume performances against Brian Ortega and Calvin Kattar. It was also when he finished Jose Aldo twice by strikes. Nowadays Max can't snowball output on opponents anymore because he's gotten a bit slower and is a bit less willing to walk into the fire. He's resorting to using his power more in fights and lowering his output. Its pretty clear the striking output from Max now has dropped considerably from several years ago.
