Jose was "Magnetic" in the way that he attracted all those around him to himself. From his love and passion for the game and community, to the personality that he brought to the ballpark each day. Everyone that he came in contact with was magnetized to him. He will be dearly missed RIP JDF #16 1992 - 2016

Baseball Vault Good job in showing Fernandez's passion for the game and how her impacted the community and even the people he talked to, and luckily I got to she him pitch on day agenst the Cardinals in Miami on my trip down there and it was just days or months before he tragicly died at the age of only 24😭 RIP JDF 16

I remember hearing the news of him dead when i was at church, my heart dropped. I didnt really know much about him till later on by researching on him. Still don't understand why he made that choice but RIP man. Also i also found out about Ventura death when i was at church. Both of them died on a Sunday Morning. May the Lord be with them. #RipJFYV

This is the perfect song to put in his tribute video. I have never been a marlins fan a day in my life, and tbh at this time in my life I was starting to leave baseball for basketball, football, and other sports. But then I watched Jose Fernandez pitch, and I was hooked. I went from barely watching baseball to buying the MLB.TV package so I could watch all of his starts in 2016. I was drawn to him in a way that I haven’t been for any other athlete since. He really was magnetic, and over five years later I still find myself thinking of him and the joy he brought to an otherwise boring game. I wish he was here.

I come back here often to pay tribute to a surefire hall of fame talent, a man who seemed destined to define himself as being the *best* strikeout pitcher of his generation. Breaks my heart, I know he would have gotten so much more dominant as he got smarter and matured. I sometimes picture him on the mound in his prime in a playoff game that never was, the most dominant pitcher in the game sporting a scraggly but well kempt beard just carving through lineups and winning Championships with Stanton. It should have been...

Jose was a bid kid at heart. He was smiling and hyped all the time. I still get hyped when I strike someone out in pickup ball. He was going to be great. He already was. He just loved the game of baseball as so many others do. It hit the baseball community hard when the news of his death broke. R.I.P Jose Fernandez 16.

Still can't believe it. Jose was an inspiration to me. He had a future, already winning rookie of the year and having a couple All Star appearances, wonder what he would be right now. His emotion and his smile, everything about him I'll miss. #RIPJDF16

PMoises8 on that exact night that he died at 3 am i was watching the highlights of the game where he returned to face the giants after more than a year of not playing in 2015. I'll also never forget the one and only start that i saw from him vs the cubs down here in Miami. The thing that always gets me is the fact that i only went to 4 games that season and they were all marlins games but the only one that the marlins won was that start that he played vs the cubs in Miami.
