I dont think that was a "defensive" move. LB was a lil too far back for that. Looks like he was on the binders due to no chutes. Thats what my eyes saw. Iv been wrong before

You are correct, but I think no-chutes was deliberate. Barnett's car was sluggish; he was out of it early (crossed the line at 175mph), probably figured he didn't need the chutes and he locked up the brakes instead, not uncommon with carbon fiber parts if you apply the brakes too hard. Both front tires were flat and you could clearly see the rear wheels weren't turning right before he kissed the wall. Kurt Johnson barrel-rolled his Pro Stock car in the lights doing the same thing years ago. :(

@@cll1639 almost everytime the chutes fail on a P/S car or get on brakes...flat spots,sideways,wall...

@@stevennewman8276 I don't believe the chutes failed on that car; I believe due to LB going 175 instead of 250 he didn't see the need for them. Hitting the wall could have blown the RF but I still maintain forcefully applying the touchy carbon fiber brakes is what caused both the flats and the incident itself. Not an uncommon thing.
