Man sometimes we think we are bigger than God is and he gives us a reality check. Thanks be to God that you realized it, because some people don’t get it and never make it. If you and I ever cross paths again I want to shake your hand and give you a brotherly hug. Continue to be blessed. 1Love

As an RN going into my 38th year of practice (10+ years as Charge on a 30 bed inpatient psychiatric facility, and 25+ years as a Medical Case Manager, treating catastrophically ill and injured patients), and a drag racer myself, I appreciate the honesty and integrity that Lyle shows in this video. He is 100% spot on, when he speaks about PTSD, and the incredible benefit that service animals provide. Just as important as the physical recovery, is the needed mental recovery....and thankfully there are good professionals who can assist with the process. I donate twice yearly to DRAW (Drag Racing Association of Women), who do so very much for injured racers and their families (remember....the injured person's family is also experiencing a trauma). Kudos to Lyle and CPTV for an excellent production, with so much valuble information and lessons for us all. ✌😎

Incredibly well said! This is a great post for an amazing documentary. Every second of this video hit home to me. I suffered a traumatic brain injury in my early 20s and was in a Coma for 38 days. I was given very little chance to survive, but luckily like Lyle said, I had an Amazing medical staff, and I also have several family members in the medical field. So I had support coming from every direction. I made a full physical recovery surprisingly quickly, and mentally I've recovered very well also. But I still struggle really bad emotionally and socially. Like Lyle said, "I never thought PTSD was real, I just didn't understand it." But now I Know, PTSD is a Serious Serious issue! It's been 12yrs since my incident, and I still really struggle to this day. Anyways, this was a great post! 👍 so thank you!

As an old guy who's been around drag racing since '64, I've seen too many bad ones. I still rattle thinking about this one, and I don't watch it anymore... twice was enough. But Lyle, thanks for your incredible inspiration... thanks for being that mountain! ⭐

I SWEAR on everything I love, as I watched/listened to this, it was like I was having someone Narrate *MY* story. I wasn't on fire, but I Did suffer a BAD tragedy of my own, and was given little-to-No chance to survive. I also was blessed with an excellent medical staff, and also have Medical Professionals in my family, and a TON of support and prayers from every direction. 🙏 As soon as he started talking about PTSD, the tears started instantly! 😭 I can literally relate to every second of this documentary! I wish it was even longer! ❤️👍 Keep up all the awesome work 👏!!

Lyle: I knew you had a hard crash early in your career, but never knew the extent. Wow. Thank you for sharing your story of the recovery and putting God, your doctors and your family in the forefront of your recovery. Also thank you for talking about the dark places. Nobody has been through exactly what you have, but everybody has their own dark places and your message of how to deal with it is helpful to many. Bobby: Once again, you are amazing. I have no idea how you make such a variety of great drag racing (and apparently life) documentaries. The only reason this stuff gets from one persons experience to the masses is by the work you and others like you do and it is hugely important that people see this. Thank you both.
