Thank you for sharing this full performance. It feels obvious to say it, but Alkan's music may have emanated from the heights of the Romantic era, yet much of it is so Classical in its sound and structures. I wonder how differently Western music teaching and appreciation would have turned out had Alkan been appointed as Head of Piano at the Conservatoire!?
