What Mou is doing at Roma right now is confirming what the 7 minute 'rant' is about. Taking over a side which lost its mojo, not winning a trophy since last 10-15 years, a side in shambles since De Rossi and Totti left. Winning the conference league and now in the hunt for a top4 finish in the SerieA and Europa league glory. A reflection of how management jobs at different clubs have different level of expectations and goals. For me, Mou will always be one of the best ever in the game, his ability to take on unconventional management positions despite having a stellar CV is remarkable.

As a Chelsea fan it was sad to see jose go the way he did bcos I loved him as a manager. I think during the second season during the second spell with Chelsea after a game against Swansea he stopped a physio (Eva carneiro) from being allowed to go to any other matches alongside the rest of the team. Apparently the team was very close with Eva and I believe the players wanted jose out. It was a clear display of Player Power that season and in the end the players got what they wanted. I would love to see Jose come back one last time but after him going to Spurs I don't think that the fans will accept him back, but I believe that during that season Jose was targeted both by the players and by some fans who blamed him for our terrible results.
@manunited78824 жыл бұрын
thank you! Some Chelsea fans even blame him today for Mo salah and KDB when he had nothing to do with it. Fuck these people weren't even complaining back then, until those two became superstars. It's like they'd rather Jose gave up winning the league titles and developed the youth instead.

Jose was wrong for criticising Eva but it's very weak mentality for players to choose Eva over Jose. They are their to win trophies not be a knight in shining armour. She can get a job elsewhere but now we'll never know what Jose could have built at Chelsea.
@solomonkizindo79284 жыл бұрын
jose's treatment of eva was way unprofessional and it seems to me like he had something personal against her. eva is a doctor, she has an oath to save anyone in a health crisis and it's the game's rule that whenever the referee makes a call the doctor must go irrespective of the coach's wish. when the doctor enters the pitch the player treated must be taken out temporarily. now was sacking eva the ultimate solution to what happened? for those who do not know should try to find injury records during eva's time as the club doctor. about selling players; he was wrong selling mata, the clubs player of the year for two consecutive seasons and considering what he was capable of doing. he was wrong selling de bruyne cause he had shown what he can do. he sold them because they are not good defensively. letting salah was ok because at that time there were other guys ahead of him. we love him because of what he has done but he had to go not because of the mistakes but it's a fact he has nothing new to offer

One of the best managers of all time. I don't support Chelsea but this guy arguably changed the standards for the whole Premier League. We think it's normal now for teams to end up with 95 points or more, but it was Mourinho that was the first to do this in the premier League. He turned Chelsea into an almost unbeatable team. Their defence in 2004/05 was insane - they let in just 15 goals all season. This defence was that good, it's argued that it's a record that might never be beaten. In that same season they finished with 95 points.

This is what happens when players know they can get the manager sacked. Imagine if you can sack your boss. In his first spell at Chelsea he was in charge. Players had to perform or they would not get their chance in Chelsea. He had the power to get the best out of his players. Nowadays with too much player power, they know they don’t need to perform and the manager will be gone. Having respect for the players is one thing. Giving them power over their managers is something else. If the players have more power, then they are responsible not the managers. You can only blame the manager for everything if the manager is in charge of everything

I want Mourinho back at Chelsea. The best coach ever in my life time. A good coach is not necessarily one who has the system that wins you trophies like Pep( even though Pep is a great coach), but its also one who can achieve great things with meagre resources. No point calling Pep the best coach if he hasn't coached a Roma or Spurs and achieved more than Mourinho did with those clubs.

Why? Some city players are getting older so is Jose a proven recruiter and new builder of a team? I like him, I would like to see some players who were young under him but are now mature and maybe retried to describe what he is like. Some players find him a great motivator, some not. Why? He's a winner for sure, but at what style and cost.

4:30, applies today also, managers are partly to blame but these days players hold too much power, and know that they do, so they use it to deflect it on the manager
