There is a Jose Rizal monument in Litomerice Czech Republic . The small town north of Prague is the hometown of Ferdinand Blumenttrit who was a close confidant of Jose Rizal. The two met in Vienna and in 1887 Rizal travelled to Bohemia to visit his friend. A bust of Jose Rizal can be found at the site of the hotel in Prague that he stayed in and which is now the headquarters of the Czech National Bank.

Dr. Jose Rizal is regarded as the national hero & there are almost 120 monuments to honor him here in the Philippines. There are also various sculptures, markers, statues, monuments of Rizal found worldwide, other countries not included in this video are: Andorra, Switzerland, Belgium, Argentina, Fujian Province in China, Peru, Czech Republic, Mexico & Austria. Trivia: Did you know that the Rizal Monument in Luneta was made entirely in Switzerland. The monument consists of the standing bronze sculpture of Rizal & other statues, with an obelisk, set on a stone base in which his remains are buried. Granite was used for the obelisk and shaft of the monument that now stands in Rizal Park in Manila. The monument was shipped from Switzerland to Manila in 1912.
