Apologies if the viewing ratio is a little different on this video. Let me know if you think Beyrle's adventures during the war are the most incredible you have heard from a US serviceman (or woman).

All Michigan 101st Airborne div soldiers, hahaha. Met him and his son in Hell MI for division association reunion. Really cool guy, his son also served if I remember correctly in Vietnam. Great story.

Interesting, the after the war photo at 8:20 shows Sgt. Beyrle wearing the pre D Day parachute only(without the Glider) insignia on his garrison cap. I guess No one messed with him! Also his grave stone shows 3 purple hearts. 2 credited for wounds suffered during and after escape attempts? What a story!

I got to live with the Russian army while deployed to Bosnia in 97. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them and I can totally see this happening. Unfortunately our leaders have made many people our enemy when in actuality we oftentimes have much in common. Thanks Mate! Another gem 💎 of a story.

Thanks mate I cant remember you telling me you were in the services? But yes you are totally right. If you take away the politics the common person will get along just fine (if they aren't radicalized)

I’m afraid as long as we have politicians with so little imagination they can only read from old Cold War scripts………

Check out Donald Burgett. He was in A company 506th of the 101. He wrote several books about his war journey, from Taccoa to the Eagles nest. I read them back in high school and loved them.

@@War_And_Truth Lol true. Wow didn't know about Ambrose. Sure have enjoyed your videos on the World War II stories and helping the general public try to get an understanding on the sacrifices this nation had to endure to get through this global conflict. I am absolutely taken back how one man, one nation was able to hamstring the world for years, and how it took a global effort to fully pound Germany (and then Japan) off the map to get a surrender!!!! Great information, great learning stuff as well. Keep up the good work!!!
