Finally, my favorite among all rags! Thank you very much Remco

This is a great favorite to have! Also you should check out the late Pat Gogerty’s recordings of it (on LP and Cassette tape: an album called “American Beauty: Rags of Class”). I think that is second best after the composer’s recording (and Guido Nielsen is third best).

Here’s the composer’s 1959 recording. He was out of practice and his piano a bit out of tune etc and I believe he doesn’t play every number as fast as he may have done in his prime, in order to get as many notes to come out correctly as possible. Nonetheless, his “feel” is there throughout. A wonderful recording. Twiddle the KZbin gear wheel to get it to play back at 1.25 speed and it is great: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2O5pqOnhp12pdk

@@itsRemco there is just someone with your videos that makes it easier to learn compared other channels. I don’t know what it is. Maybe the quality, sound of the piano, or maybe even the colors. I know I’m not the only one because your almost have 6k subscribers 😂

@@thememeteam7585 Hahahh thanks xd I know what it is: - High Sound Quality -4K@60fps so that when you slower it down its still easy to watch/learn - Not those unnecessary flashes and effects - Full keyboard view 😂

@@thememeteam7585 Thanks! The fact that I heart comments is a sign of I see you / listen to you and your opinion matter, that's why I do that :) There is no point and fun in growing alone, you can get far alone but you'll get way further together

1:53 I just realized this part is played with the pedal on. I rarely see pedaling in ragtime music
@andrewbarrett15372 жыл бұрын
Usually the pedaling is improvised. Very few ragtime scores from the old days indicate any pedaling, but the pianists did pedal as proven by their audio recordings and piano rolls.
