Joseph Lamb, James Scott and Scott Joplin were considered the three kings of ragtime for a reason - even though most ragtime sheet music was simplified to allow for the women of the household (usually daughters) to play with only a little bit of experience, these three managed to weave a beautiful simplicity and complexity in voices for both hands in a way that wouldn't really be seen until at least the video game composers of the 80s who had to work with very limited parameters to produce something simple (3 voices) yet rich and memorable.

This rag is much better at a slower speed. Many of Joseph Lamb's rags are best slow.

I think this rag should be put at a slower tempo. It brings out the beauty this rag was written for.

True , but I have a recording of a full arrangement of this rag played at this tempo by a Wurlitzer PianOrchestra orchestrion, from an original period roll from the ‘teens, and it is THRILLING! One of the most epic ragtime recordings I have. So I think this tempo is still perfect although I agree any faster would be inappropriate, and slower is fine.

I think at maybe 0.85 speed it would be perfect. 0.75 is a bit too slow.
