This part 25:00 is really beautiful and heart warming

At 2:12 and 2:19 we hear Debussey, and the Chopin Scherzo #3 at 5:25.I might be hearing Satie in the second movement. If we were living in this period we'd no doubt hear more. The third movement reflects "Girl With the Flaxen Hair," here and there. Still a nice and very listenable piece.

Complex harmonies that could resound with the language of Ravel. Nicely performed!
@ulengrau6357 Жыл бұрын
You really think so? I wonder if you just mean the sort of, whimsical chromaticism at times.The piece itself is not very complex. Makes me think of Deodat de Severac's work, which is also very lovely, but completely shallow.

2:33 sounds a bit like a quote from Debussy's Arabesque No. 1

Great performance. Though some of the influences already mentioned are apparent, it does not take away from this sure-handed composition and the considerable understanding and handling of pianistic textures.

Jongens music all has a lovely hint of his organ works in it, especially in how he writes very in very chordal patterns

The SymphonIe deserves a place of honor among major modern works. Hope your mention will lead many to it -- some or all of Virgil Fox's live performance with orchestra is right here in YT!

This is a delightful work, but I don't understand why he would call it a "Suite pour Piano en forme de Sonate," instead of giving it a simple and memorable name like "Piano Sonata."
