Most young Muslim or Jewish people will struggle because their desires and their religion is not compatible. They struggle and do not seek help due to family and honour. Personally I experience same-sex attraction but practically everything Joseph Nicolosi has said resonates with me. Although I have a good relationship with my father, I do feel as though my mother is overbearing and perhaps subconsciously scared me away from girls. And I do feel that my father is subservient to her in certain regards, so he was never a strong masculine role model, in fact he is a very passive person. Furthermore, I am not good at making connections with fellow guys, so perhaps I do fetishize males because I subconsciously yearn for their attention. Moreover, I hardly experience attraction to guys I have known since before I started having sexual attraction, even if their looks would otherwise put them squarely in my “type”, which proves that my attraction is totally a fetishization because I knew those people before my brain started actively fetishizing guys. Furthermore, I fully agree with experts another commentator quoted who said homosexuals can never be both friends and sexually interested in each other. I know this to be true because there was a boy in 9th grade I was attracted to, but after him joining my soccer team and carpooling with him for years, we’ve grown in familiarity and I don’t really sexualize him anymore. In fact, the thought of sexualizing him now makes me feel deeply uncomfortable, as though I am wronging him personally in some way. Therefore, I believe that as I grow older and become more confident socially, I will loose my homosexuality and become heterosexual.

As to your other point, I don't mean to be insensitive, but you will never feel attracted to women for as long as you engage in a relationship that is inherently emasculating. Although it can manifest itself in strength, masculinity itself is rather fragile. In other words, it is easier to lose one's sense of masculinity than it is lose one's sense of femininity. There are some lines in life where once you cross them they cannot easily be uncrossed because they leave an almost indelible mark on your psyche. And the surest way to emasculate yourself is to have sex with another man. And so if you're going to wait and see if you can be attracted to women while engaging in a gay relationship, you'll be waiting forever because one cannot be attracted to women unless they have a healthy sense of their own masculinity.

I completely disagree that no homosexual person wants to change. During puberty I banned myself from even trying to watch gay porn in case I liked it, I don't want a relationship at all with a male, I want a female partner and a family, there would be no point in any homosexual thoughts and it would only decrease the chances and increase the threat of me having a female partner and a family. Once he changed his STANDARD and truly placed HETEROSEXUALITY over homosexuality he literally became one. He now has a GIRLFRIEND & they've been dating for a year now. You are never going to be successful at doing what he did however because you really do NOT desire to be heterosexual. You only desire to please heterosexuals which isn't the same as Aspiring to be heterosexual. Heterosexuals actually ASPIRED to be one especially when they were children. Noone that isn't heterosexual wants to be one, if you wanted to be one you would be one. Nicolosi was a Fool, but he was right about something, you can change from being homosexual to heterosexual, But all you need isnt a therapist, you need to TRULY desire to be heterosexual (not just to simply increase your self esteem and connect non sexually with other men lol). I do not believe for one second that you REALLY want to be one, surely you do not. The true cause of Homosexuality is very simple, STANDARDS, what causes you to have those standards, nicolosi could be right about them but STANDARDS are the actual CAUSE of all sexual orientation. If you were Bisexual I would instantly know that both Homosexuality and Heterosexuality is your standard. You don't simply just like the male anatomy, your standard is the role that comes with being homosexual... No heterosexual hails the homosexual role as their standard and vice versa. It doesn't matter how much males like being around other males, the avg man does not hail homosexuality as their standard which is why no such heterosexual male is homosexual. YOU however do hail homosexuality as your standard which is why you desire sex with other males, when you no longer hail the homosexual role, only then will you will stop being one. As of now, you only want to please heterosexuals, not actually be one.

Please can you explain how exactly your friend got rid of homosexuality, like what were the exact steps because I don't know what you mean by standards. How do I change these standards? Or an idea or thing used as a measure, norm, or model for comparative evaluations. Unfortunately for you, You like milk and oreos too because both are your standard meal. A weak masculine self image seems to be clearly linked to the development of male same-sex attraction in psychological literature. Masculinity as I have understood it in this context is a feeling of being accepted by other males (particularly heterosexual males) and being fully accepted as "one of the guys" and being able to confidently participate in gendered male activities.
