I was lucky to get my hand on Joseph Zbukvic's latest art book from his recent Shanghai show. I wish I could tell you where you can purchase a copy, but unfortunately, I don't know...

Hi there I have to ask- Do you happen to narrate Chien chung-Wei’s Painting Nature video on paint tube? It sounds identical to your voice - and it’s such a nicely narrated video- Anyway it’s not important I just thought id mention that if it is you who helped narrate the video you did very nice work

I am so happy to see this book and his new work. It makes me want to cancel my work day and go home and get out my watercolors and get back to practice.

I think he is probably the greatest watercolorist in the game right now although I am a huge Buffalo Kaplinski fan, but I wish Joseph would paint with less gray tone and a little bit more color pop

Love Joseph but Herman pekel is my favourite. His paintings have a crazy messy manic touch to them. Always pushing the boundaries

Thank you for uploading this, Eric. I got introduced to Z thru your channel, and I have always been in amazement. I was also able to get this book but my copy is still in Australia, so I am glad I am able to see it as I won’t get my book until about November 😂

How did you buy it? How much was it? Can u provide any info that would help others to get it also? I find it strange that Joseph doesn’t have any books to purchase besides his prints or original art that not everyone can afford. Fine art Snub or bad pr/marketing on his part. But great artist… shame no one else can get these books otherwise.

@@smoothatwork they don't print a lot. They only had 100 copies sold and I was able to get a copy as I have connected with Lisa since my last book purchase in 2020 during pandemic. I don't think the books are meant to be sold for business, but it was more of a way to get some copies to art enthusiasts and was mostly in the circle of artists. Maybe it has to do with Z not wanting resellers, as he did not like his first book Mastering Atmosphere and Mood in watercolor selling at crazy prices now. sorry you did not get a copy.

It would be interesting to know who inspired him in developing his style of painting.

He has mentioned it somewhere in his videos about John Singer Sargeant and other impressionists painters

Richard Schmid has a similar style using oil paint. Every artist is influenced and takes a bit of technique and qualities from another. Contrasting hard lines vs soft is one of Schmid’s focus. And it’s reflected in Joseph’s work with added atmosphere and washes that watercolour provides.
