NONE of MSI testers noticed the touchpad problem....or ....MSI didn't even want to test it themselves. Another unloved product from MSI. They should just copy everything APPLE. good user review. MSI should make a point to sent EVERYTHING they do for your testing before they release them.

Hi thanks for the info, I found it very useful, I’m looking at the latest iteration of this laptop to replace my current old desktop, do you think that it would preform well running Autodesk inventor. +2000 part assemblies?

I'm not 100% sure as I have not run inventors on this. But it was quite capable machine.

I bought this laptop about 3 months ago. Overall I'm very happy with it but there's 2 major issues that I have no solution for. 1) Whenever you're typing, suddenly it will automatically repeat a button you've pressed around 10-15 times such as "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee", like that. It can also be backspace. SUPER annoying and this is not a hardware issue but a software issue. I have googled and troubleshooted but could not solve this. It will drive me crazy at some point. 2) This laptop seems to run hot without doing anything. I'm only browsing the internet, listening to spotify and I have a few applications open (nothing too crazy) and you can already hear the fans spinning. This is unacceptable for such a premium laptop with high end specs. I haven't even tested it for gaming yet but I'm holding my breath if it already runs hot on basic usage.

I have not experienced it, but The repeated key issue would be really annoying! As for the heating and fan, it is generally noisier than light laptops, as the high end components do output a lot of heat. Try silent mode and see if it helps.

@@JosephKim The fan noise would be understandable if I put a high workload on it like games or editing but for normal usage you'd expect this high specced laptop to easily handle it without heating. I tried all modes and there's always a fan noise that you can't completely get rid of unless you unplug the charger. Which is also why I suspect the high voltage and 240 watts powering this thing is what's causing the heat. Even if you don't use that much power, it has to go somewhere.

This is due to Turbo boost, try disabling it in the BIOS, or using the ThrottleStop program

Perhaps not. The hinge was quite good on this one. It just didn't go all the way down.

I personally don't really need a laptop at z17 caliber. That was just a special occasion. Honestly, I'd prefer to pay less than increase the performance of what's already overkill for most of things I do :)

I paid $5k for the top-of-the-line MSI Creator Z17 and it has been absolute garbage. I'm sick to my stomach. The components are power-throttled due to poor cooling efficiency, so it might as well have half the specs. 6 weeks after the warranty expired the nVME went out. $400 to replace and it took 2 months because they messed up the first time. Now just a few weeks later one of the fans is going out. Avoid MSI at all costs please don't make my mistake.

I don't recommend buying it, you can recommend it to your enemy. Constant problems with charging via the USB C port, the port destroys all connected devices. He has already been to the service center twice. It heats up mercilessly without load....

Not to mention the sub-par screen resolution of 2.5k and poor refresh rate of 60hz.. but it looks fantastic. Still no endgame laptop in sight yet, I'll settle with the 3.2k resolution 120hz Zenbook Pro 16X OLED (UX7602) when the 13th gen version comes out later this year

Why you didn't tell us how hot is this laptop? Because MSI gave it to you for free? I can fry eggs on it

It is a powerful machine and it will run hot if you peg it. But, it was cooled at reasonable level. Have you tried max cooling mode? No, MSI didn't give me the laptop.
